WIP Wentward Endeavour (New 2024 Bus)

Hey everyone!
Devlog #3 is out! This covers everything I have made progress on since last time, which would be
- The new dashboard computer
- Interactive buttons in the interior
- New halogen headlights!

You will be able to see all of this, and a showcase of the new dashboard computer in the video!



Also yes, I did forget to translate it from German, but I will do it, I just wanted to get this video out quickly to show you all!

Just a idea, but you should add a 15m ish config, I love how these long ass things handle!

A 14.5m would be pretty cool to add. Im just not sure if I can get a rear steering axle and a second axle at the back, so it may just have to be one

 

Yeah, rear steering prolly is pretty hard to implement (jbeam moment). The DT45 from wentward pack has rear steering, so maybe you could reference to that.

Hopefully any of the configs will spawn in traffic when traffic is activated and enable mods is checked

Simplified traffic configs use shared materials and a simple jbeam. So they are essentially different cars. Btw if u want to dm me for it dm CrashHavenBNG. The account this message is on is softlocked.

Will there be a LHD config?

 

I don't think there will be. Converting everything to LHD from RHD will be a pain. But after I finish it, which at the moment, my main focus is on the transmission pack, I might attempt a LHD version too, but only after a version is released, so I don't break everything

How about a hybrid model using this

 

Not quite sure. Theres a lot left to do still, and V8.0 of the Wentward Transmission Pack is taking a lot of my time, but it is nearly done

That doesn't sound like a bad idea. I considered it ages ago but didn't think I would do it because I don't know much about lua, but I know quite a bit now, so it might be back on the list.
The Endeavour in real life can have a Scania Hybrid chassis anyway, so it's even closer to real life

 

Lua is only needed if you write the logic yourself. You can consult CYCJoseph for their hybird bus. If you use exising hybrid "core mechanics" only jbeam editing to use that is necessary. You can look into the jbeam file of this mod
