2024 Holiday Modding Contest

Terms and conditions for the Vehicle Manipulation Contest

 Organizer

The contest is organized BeamNG GmbH, Domshof 17, 28195 Bremen, Germany, hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer” and shall be governed exclusively by these Terms and Conditions.

 Time Period

The contest may be entered from 23rd of December 2024 until 10th of February 2025. Any entries received after the deadline will not be considered.

 How to enter

To participate in the contest, participants must submit game modifications to the official BeamNG Repository, located at https://www.beamng.com/resources/

The accepted categories of modifications for this contest include:

  • New vehicles
  • New props
  • New modifications to existing vehicles or props with accompanying configurations
  • Maps
  • Gameplay (such as scenarios or missions)

In addition, each participant must publish the link to the BeamNG Repository in the dedicated contest thread on the official forums.

Each participant may enter the contest only once. Using multiple e-mail addresses, multiple forum profiles, or automated processes to increase the chance of winning is prohibited. Submissions from teams or groups are accepted, however only one prize may be delivered to the group.

Participation in the contest is free.

 Additional participation qualifications

Published mods must not be in violation of BeamNG EULA, Terms of Service, Community or Modding Guidelines, nor contain inappropriate themes or offensive content.

Only new and original work may be submitted for this contest. It is prohibited to resume an old project, or otherwise reuse existing work.

 Use of work of the participants in marketing or in-game

The winning entries will be featured on the official website of BeamNG.drive as well as social media channels, and may be used for promotional activities by the Organizer.

The participant grants the organizer the exclusive, irrevocable, transferable rights to use the submitted material, unlimited in terms of content time and territory for exploitation in any form of utilization and any media, especially within BeamNG.drive and for marketing purposes on Organizer’s website and social media channels. The Organizer is not obliged to use the work.

The participant guarantees that there are no third-party rights to the work and undertakes to indemnify the Organizer against any claims asserted by third parties.

 Eligibility

The contest is open globally; however, the Organizer is limited as to where the physical prizes may be delivered.

Any natural persons (no businesses) that are 18 years or older may participate in the contest. Should a participant be of limited legal capacity, consent from his or her legal guardian is required.

Participation in the contest is not conditional upon the purchase of any products or services.

Excluded from participation in the contest are all persons who are involved in the design or implementation of the contest as well as all employees of the Organizer and their family members. In addition, the Organizer reserves the right to exclude persons from participation in the contest at its sole discretion for valid reasons, such as

  • a) any manipulation in connection with access to or implementation of the contest,
  • b) any violations of these Terms and Conditions,
  • c) any inappropriate actions, or
  • d) any false or misleading information provided in connection with participation in the contest.

 Winner selection and notification

After the contest has closed, the jury comprising of BeamNG employees and MFD team will determine the winners on basis of the quality of the submitted work and/or how well the submitted work represents the theme of the contest.

Winners are announced within 6 weeks after the end of the time period on the website of the Organizer on www.beamng.com, through official social media channels, and through the MFD Community Discord server.

Winners of the contest must contact the Organizer within two weeks of the winners announcement and must provide their postal address, full legal name, phone number, and email address in order to receive prizes.

 Prizes and delivery of prizes

The following prizes will be awarded:

  • 1st place:
    • 3x game keys for BeamNG.drive
    • 1x Contest Trophy
    • 1x Merchandise Package
    • $300 gift card
  • 2nd place:
    • 2x game keys for BeamNG.drive
    • 1x Merchandise Package
    • $200 gift card
  • 3rd place:
    • 1x game key for BeamNG.drive
    • 1x Merchandise Package
    • $100 gift card

Prizes will be delivered exclusively to winners. Prizes cannot be exchanged, picked up personally, or cashed in. Prizes will be delivered to any country to which our shipping partner DHL Germany is currently shipping.

Any costs incurred for the shipment of prizes will be paid by the Organizer. Any additional costs associated with claiming a prize are the responsibility of the winner. The winner is personally responsible for any and all taxes that may be due and owing on a prize.

If a winner fails to contact the Organizer within two weeks after the winner announcement, the right to claim the prize will be forfeited and the Organizer shall have the right to withdraw the price and to select an alternate winner.

 Termination of sweepstakes

The Organizer expressly reserves the right to terminate the contest for good cause and without prior notice. This may be the case, in particular, if circumstances occur that would interfere with or prevent the due course of the contest. In the event of any violation of the Terms and Conditions, prizes may also be revoked and winners may be required to return prizes.

 Limitations of liability

The Organizer shall be subject to unlimited liability for any intentional or grossly negligent actions or omissions as well as for any ordinary negligence resulting in harm to life, limb, or health. If the Organizer breaches a material obligation, the Organizer shall be liable for any resulting property damages and financial damages if and to the extent that such damages were reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was concluded, up to a maximum amount of € 5,000.00. Liability for any other damages is hereby excluded.

 Data privacy

Participation in the contest requires that participants provide personal data. The participant hereby represents that the information provided by the participant regarding his/her identity, including, without limitation, his/her first name, last name, postal address and e-mail address, is true and correct.

Legal matters

Any recourse to courts of law is hereby excluded.

 Privacy Policy for the contest

Controller of the contest is BeamNG GmbH:

The categories of personal data processed are name, email address, postal address.

The purpose of the processing is participation in the contest and, in the event of winning, the transfer of a prize. The legal basis for the processing is the fulfilment of a contract; Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.

In addition to the controller, the recipient of the processed data in the case of the prize is the delivery service provider.

The data will be stored until the contest has ended and the prize has been successfully handed over. As a data subject within the meaning of the GDPR, you have rights vis-à-vis the controller. You can request confirmation from the controller as to whether and which personal data concerning you is being processed (including, among other things, the purposes for which the personal data is processed; categories of personal data; recipients; storage period).

In addition, under certain circumstances, you can request the rectification or erasure of your data. You may also have the right to restrict the processing of your data and the right to receive the data you have provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
