Why have I suddenly been seeing everyone with these things? Just a few weeks ago I didn't know they existed.

The concept is cool but it's dumb how everyone has to buy one because "everyone else has one"

They're a dumb way to get free money from kids. All that crap about helping those with ADHD has been proven false, and it just distracts everyone else.
Personally, I hate everything that people come up with these days ie the dab, spinners, etc.

Could not agree more. My school is filled with the disease of "dabbing" "hitting the folks" fidget spinners, and other random, annoying sayings and phrases

I was personally diagnosed with ADHD when I was around the age of 10, and I just got one of these spinners. It actually really soothes me and calms me down.

what he said. i feel like trying to profit off of a mental health disorder is just wrong. i have adhd (the rare kind that a real doctor actually gave me) and i feel nothing but stupid when i spin a spinner or click a cube. i hate the trend with a burning passion and i hope it dies as hard as the pet rock did.

Hitting them folks and dabbing is dead. No need to bring them up. I plan to never buy a fidget spinner. I've borrowed and used one but never will permanently keep one. As long as the bearings are lubed up good, they don't make any noise so it's not a distraction to me if it's under a table.

I like how people mention ADHD when that's not the only reason they exist.

Autism and anxiety. For which they are proven to help.

For those that they are intended for, theyre great.

As a general classroom fad, they suck

Here's what a fidget spinner is.

They've been around for a while now, but their popularity exploded recently.

Here's a link to its Wikipedia page.

TBH, I am interested in getting one. I think they're interesting to watch.

I actually took a fidget spinner from someone, and spinned it. Only they told me to give it back so I did. And unlike a fidget cube to get the enjoyment from it you have to look at it. Because fidget cubes are smaller, and you are just pressing some buttons. Fidget cubes are okay, because they haven't been impacted in memes as much as the spinner.

3D printer in school + cheap bearings from local hardware stores = my mates building their own spinners.
They are okay I think. Cubes can be printed too.

Ive got one, the teachers don't mind that much as long as you do your work, just something to keep both of my hands busy, I write with my left hand and the right hand has the spinner going round, obviously I don't use it all the time but its not bad, its like people clicking their pen mindlessly, its ok I guess but don't do it when the teacher is talking

To be honest, I would actually buy one if that wasn't so popular. I like the idea and I often need to do something with my fingers if there current things going on don't require my full attention. I chew far too much chewing gum, in school I colour the grid in my notebook and in home I open and close the back cover of TV remote when watching TV.
But... By the time I would get a spinner, the trend would have died already and people would look at me like at a guy who listens to Gangnam Style in 2017. Then again I could buy a spinner in a shop, but I would overpay like 5 times for the same quality product I would get from Ebay after a month of shipping
