Hi guys, I have been working on a few maps on Beam but there has just been one stubborn s*** of a map which I just cant fix.

I really wanted to make this map work but the thing is that for some reason there is one file in the zip that just causes Hirochi Raceway to be opened instead of the my map. I have spent about a whole month trying to fix it to no avail so I have just said "Screw it, I don't care"

The problem is that I'm in my final year of school so I have an ton of studies almost every day and whatever time I have left I want to work on new projects and do little fixes to old ones.

So what I'm proposing is that the first one of you lovely people whom can fix the map and prove that it actually works gets the whole map and can genuinely do what ever they want even posting it on mods without crediting me, honestly I don't care what you do because this thing has taken up too much of my time.

The map is a racetrack called Partasia Raceway and was planned to have a sister map with the name Alan in it to keep up with my theme of British comedians by having Alan Partridge added to the previous pair of David Brent (Davithton & Brentstrom)

So to paraphrase you fix it, you have it.....

    Over and out

Yup there it is, the map it self works, the problem only occurs when I submit it for publishing on the main home page because what will happen is that I zip it correctly (Name of level/levels/Name of level/Content inside) and then after about a day of waiting I just get the news back that they unfortunately cannot post the map because it only opens Hirochi Raceway :/

NOTE: Not ripping on admins because they are great guys, honestly, just a bit down on luck with this one map and im out of options!

    1. I don't understand the question. I see that your mod is packaged incorrectly (using old/legacy style packing) but I added the zip directly to my mods folder and the compatibility system handled it just fine.
    2. I repacked the mod the correct/current way and that works fine too.
    3. Have you seen this map open Hirochi Raceway yourself, or are other people just telling you that?

    This is strange.

I've looked through your .MIS and there's nothing that would point it to Hirochi Raceway. I'm gonna look further into this. Personally I refuse to take away all your work. If I find the problem, I'll fix it and get it back to you. Trust me, if there is something wrong, it's a simple fix.

Also, should I assume the basic steps were taken? Clear cache, reinstall game etc etc?

I just played around on it, nothing seems wrong.

I'll take the liberty of putting this into the proper mod folder structure for you. You noted the structure to be as such:

Name of level/levels/Name of level/Content inside. This is incorrect. Take out the first part and it should run fine so in the zip it would appear like this: levels/yourmap/contenteverythingblahblah

Anyway, give this another go. See if it gets approved. If not, have a conversation with the person approving it. This is very important; I think they should initiate it first. It could in fact be an error on his/her end and that's driving a decision to not approve the map.

    Cheers!

Well, what has happened to you is what SHOULD happen but the problem only occurred when I was trying to publish the mod for the actually mods section on the website, unfortunately when I would post it, admin synsol (colin) hasn't been able to make the map work. Now I have submitted the map twice and both times he would not be able to open this, now whilst I did not see that it didn't work for him personally, I strongly believe him because well he is the admin!

So yeah, thanks for trying to get it working and I'm glad it works for you but now I need to either talk more to synsol (colin) and see what we can do or just accept that it only works on some peoples game by the looks of it.

    Thanks for the reply!

Now for me and it looks like the people whom have been trying it over here, there has been nothing wrong and the map works as I hoped the problem is with when I try and go and get it uploaded to the site, because what will happen is that I wait a day or so and then the admin synsol (colin) will look and it and have a problem hence denying the map, now being someone relatively new to the game I thought I was correct instead but logically the admin should know more.

Now I went over the code about 3 times to find no errors so I resubmitted it and then again the problem still occurred so I went and I looked over it to STILL find nothing wrong.

I eventually went and I came to here for help assuming it was a problem on my end but with the help of you and others I can now find that the problem is on synsol (colin)'s end.

I will resubmit this like you suggested along with the correct file structure and I will converse with synsol (colin) and hope to get it resolved.

Say from what I have witnessed and it was all an honest mistake on both our parts and with the help of you I hope this map can be finished :)
