This tutorial playlist here is pretty good if you want a kickstart into modelling cars well, though when making models for beam i'd recommend not using the subdivision modifier or using level 1 as long as the base mesh is low poly enough. Just use official BeamNG models as a guide to how your model should be.
It's so far quite promising, but the name "Traipse" might need a bit of a tweak if you asked me. But that's just me.
Well if you were thinking of sticking with "R" related names, I thought of a few new possibilities, Gavril Rapture Gavril Ravish Gavril Radiance And ig if not I thought these sounded kind of cool, Gavril Abroad Gavril Adagio Gavril Arcane idk traipse isn't really doin it for me. When I look at it I think of it the way you would say crepes but with a "tr" at the beginning rather than "cr".
The name is not really an important thing to me. It's the meaning behind the words that counts. With this in mind, I do like the name Gavril Rapture but this doesn't seem totally fitting for the vehicle I have in mind... ... while Traipse, on the other hand, has a more applicable (and arguably humorous) meaning - one which I think would fit the vehicle very well, especially if you're going to be using it offroad. As for the provided synonyms, they seem a bit too generic to use as the name for a car, or are more fitting for a personal device (an iPod Shuffle, for example). In any case, I'll still accept suggestions for names, but just know that I prefer to use a word that is fitting more in meaning than in superficial desirability, and I don't think "delight" when I think of an SUV. I spent the last hour or so adding some additional geometry in side view, only adding what I think is absolutely necessary to fit the shape of the vehicle. The window trim and side cladding will only come way later, when I feel confident that the model has made it to that point. The reference is shown so you can be certain that the shape is going to be accurate, if derivative.

Today's update consists of some mesh work, but one of the things I did was create four new materials to color pieces that are supposed to be either paint, plastic, or panes. The taillights have their own color as well. The biggest strides came with reshaping the back. There's a round-over at the rear edge where the tailgate and taillight join flush with the shell, and that dips down to the rear bumper that actually looks more like a rear bumper and not just a block. It has a rear step and some plastic trim. There's a little hump thing above the tailgate glass for where the center-mounted stop lamp is supposed to go. Abroad, the sides above the door panels are a little bit curved now, so it flows a little bit better over there. I also filled in the windows temporarily before I make the sills and seals that go on the inside edges. And here's the same view but without the interfering edges. I'm glad that this is, at least to me, looking more like a concept clay model before they go and make a version out of real sheet metal. And speaking of which, I will definitely be seeking some assistance with texturing, since that is something I have jack experience in. Maybe when the model has some more geometry, I may enlist the help of a couple of people for that as well. I don't ask that now because I might as well be selfishly asking someone to make this thing for me, as if I hadn't put in any effort. I'll give myself a chance to increase my work ethic first, so that your involvement will feel more like genuine help.
I had initially looked into the meaning of the names with the idea that the company would want to pair a car with an exciting name regardless if said car does not reflect such attribute for marketing purposes. Although you have solid reasoning and your progress is great, keep up the good work.
Sorry there wasn't any progress yesterday. I don't really have any excuses so today's update will be a bit more substantial to make up for that. It may not be quite obvious just from this view, but I did realize that the slopes along the side windows were actually not steep enough. The reference photo I looked at today revealed that the area there is almost vertical. Now it's a little less inclined toward the occupants. Then I finished the round transition from the a-pillar to the bottom of the front bumper and cleaned up the whole way along so it flows a little better. Then of course, I decided today would be the day that I would drastically reshape the front clip, adding mock headlights, a one-piece grill (if you can even call it that), and some plastic on the front bumper. From overhead, you can see how I gradually curved the front along the bonnet and bumper. I know the part at the windshield where the wipers are supposed to go is still flat, which will be addressed when I move on to adding more geometry to the bonnet and the roof. In other news, time to look at some posts and reply directly: Ibishu Pessima I'll keep that in mind while I make more progress with this model. Maybe in the future I'll make a poll to see which name people like the best and then use the winning name. Honestly I think this vehicle is a bit too modern to house an I6 under the bonnet anyway. I'm not really sure. With that aside, there will definitely be V6 engine as standard on some models with an option to upgrade, and V8 on the upper-tier models. I could probably just reuse the vanilla Gavril engines if I want a V8 but I may have to craft a V6 from scratch, which I can do in Automation. If it is true that Bruckell and Gavril canonically share ties in the same vein as Buick and Chevrolet, I may consider rebadging a variant as a Bruckell, considering the Chevrolet TrailBlazer had an official derivative available from Buick as well as from Oldsmobile - whichever one of those Bruckell is supposed to represent. Well those were the three posts that I found that I felt I could reply to this time, so feel free to send more my way so I can give some answers!
Don't worry, you're making steady progress - we won't all come at you with pitchforks for taking a day of rest...
i'm really gonna love this car. the chevy blazer always had an aesthetic that i loved, so it's amazing that you're making it into a mod
I don't know why it took me this long to get it out. The old computer I was using is, unusable. And I never migrated any of my sh... stuff over to a cloud drive so that means this project has to be reset... again. That's some big motivation for me to get back to the project. It's been months now. Even if I wasn't working forty hours at night, I'd have gotten one vertex moved every day, if I still had the Blender file. I do plan on getting back to this, I swear. I just don't know why I bother trying anymore, if all I ever do is start over. Even the name was garbage, too. I'll just have to think of a new one. So I don't even know at this point. I want to, but I don't know.
if you were to restart it you could actually try to model it the normal way instead of trying to make a 2d thing 3d
