WIP WWI Air Superiority Fighter

I'd say it will 100% have limited ammo. Aside from a reciprocating piston-thingy, I have no idea how you could have unlimited ammo in BeamNG.
And then even with the piston-thingy, you'd have the problem of it getting stuck on stuff and pulling the plane around. I just don't think it's feasible.



Back to the plane itself, no updates lately as I have flat not had the time. I will also be gone the later-half of this week so I don't expect much will get
done on it this week either. I'm hoping once we get into December I'll have a bit of time before Christmas to work on this thing, but I really don't know
until we get there.

i think each ammos are one node and they are launched one at a time , its the case on the an12 and spitfire ( and me262 i think )

and will it have a rear turret system ?

 

That's the plan.

I know how guns with LIMITED ammo are made in BeamNG, I did not think that UNlimited ammo was even possible, but I've been assured that via some Lua magic, it is possible... though I still don't quite understand how.

And to answer your question, I already answered it in line 2 of the "plans" section of the first post in this thread.

There goes December progress!
I'll be away from the 10th to the 21st, and then Christmas and New Years are right on the heels of that, so I don't think much progress will be made the rest of this year... if any at all.

I'm also pretty sure the cat's out of the bag regarding what this mod actually is, so there's no more sense being cagey with the thread title... I was going to change it comlpetely, but it felt wrong, so I just tacked "WWI" on the front to reduce confusion/misplaced-excitement.

 

i so want this to come out but i always get my hope's up and the mod never releases, this look like it will with how much time you spent on it and how detailed the plane is and update log

I intend to finish this one, I'm kinda sick of having a ton of half-done projects... I just have a short attention span and limited free time.

Firstly, I would have preferred you asking me this question via private message and not derailing this thread further lol... just for future reference..........

Secondly, It's not "abandoned," it's "back-burner" like all my unfinished projects lol...
HOWEVER;
I'm not hugely attached to that project as it was more of an experiment in car-body modeling than something I ever intended to fully flesh-out. I also wanted to draw attention to Steve Magnante's situation at the time, and thankfully he's doing quite well now, so there's no real need for that anymore. So basically, let me finish the steering for the MacPherson front suspension for it, then I'll post my file dump and to-do list there and you can do what you want with it... Just credit me for the stuff I made from scratch.



Back onto the actual topic of this thread;
I'm hoping to have a bit more free time in the next couple weeks, so don't expect an update, but I'll try to get one thrown together.

EDIT 12/29/2025: @jgb ; Here is the redo of that test stand since the first one didn't work lol... I tested this one so it oughtta work.

Or even better, the Weißkopf 21-B the First flyable motorized aircraft (made by Gustav Weißkopf, later Withehead in the U.S.A., in 1901)

It probably even flew over one mile, while the Flyer just flew (only after diary entrys) around 250 meters (or 820 feet)
