i absolutely hated this os, but i am kinda sad to see it go. i remember back in 2008 when my family upgraded from a brick of a Compaq presario 5000 series fro 1999 to a Fujitsu, core 2 duo, 2gb Ram and vista home basic. it did its job until it was over ridden with viruses and my minecraft literally killed it. even though it was ages ago i still feel that vista has been a big part of my life.

    I've been proven wrong.

What's wrong with you people? Vista was a broken PoS.

It did get better with time, but it was never half as good as XP or 7. Thats the whole reason I and most people skipped over it.

think of vista as a beta windows 7, it was good for the time if you had the computer to match, computers with windows XP and ancient hard drives were not pleased to know that vista wasn't happy with 1GB Ram and your VIA chipset graphics the whole machine slowed to a crawl...

Agreed. Spent more time troubleshooting that pile of excrement than I did actually playing games.

    Good riddance!

It really was Windows 7 Beta. Except it was released as a full OS, without telling anyone that it wasn't finished.

it was an utter POS operating system and the fact that it TRIED to replace XP makes it worse

At least Microsoft hasn't forgotten their roots with Windows 10. Although its more like an eternal beta now.

MacOS does that, too. As does almost every Linux distro. Microsoft has finally gotten on the bandwagon.

Not me. I'm not a fan of Windows so I don't care that Vista died.

It has been a while since I used Vista and I remember hating it.

still windows 10 is full of bugs, in my opinion they are developing far too slow, like this is Microsoft, how come these changes are so small and infrequent... like two feature updates a year is pretty bad in my opinion... like a whole new android update is released every year, and normally that is a whole lot more than what Microsoft delivers.. like did it seriously take so long to add a game mode and a silly paint 3d program that no one uses... my windows 10 tablet certainly has not got as many features built in as an android one..

Also.. the app ecosystem is absolutely awful... like for basic tasks too, like Facebook, their app is horrendous, laggy and the touch optimization is awful, the browser version is far better, but that is pretty bad. if you want an app then don't even bother looking in the windows store, there is no point, you literally look at the showcase and that is all of the apps there is that work..
    BUT!!
    its not all bad!
some apps, like 1 or 2 are well made, they are slick and use the windows metro styling and they are fantastic, but app developers simply cant be bothered

Yeah thats what I meant, Windows 10 is absymally broken and every update is a total disaster for weeks after launch (just happened again with the creators update). Weird how stuff is buggy when you fire the entire testing team, eh... We are the testers now, much much cheaper to just drop it on people and let them do all the testing for free.
