When you add more update?

You could display a kind of chart showing the completion percentage... something basic... we give you money because we think you are special after all. There must be a way to be more transparent.

 

The blog posts the devs are posting are great and very transparent.

 

While I admit I didn't expect the race update would take half a year or more (Disclaimer: hyperbole), these threads sadly won't make it come any faster, nor are adding much to the forum. At least the blog posts make me want what i can't have.

 

From my experience, it's pretty much like this... and I've never worked on something as large as this sim is.

This [rather useless] thread has gained the devs some respect from me. It takes a special kind of person to see these obnoxious, rude, and impatient posts and still be cool, calm, and collected. I don't know if I'd have the patience you two have with people like this.

Sorry I freaked out a bit it's just getting rather annoying that people ask for the update so much. And yes I think it is a good idea if the devs release smaller updates more often.

I think that the plan for a large re-write of code was not communicated well. Coupled with the banner on the website last year that said "Update coming soon!" probably gave people the impression that the update would have been out by now.

Going forward I would avoid vague deadlines or give specific expectations.

Anyway, people are only antsy because they really like the game. It's a compliment.

 

With large rewrites it can be very hard to have a deadline, especially with such a small team. Maybe not putting the banner up quite as early might've helped a bit, but I don't really see much they could've done any better. And besides if they didn't put up the banner we have tons of people posting wondering if they're going to update the game ever again.

I prefer to know that I can play something else 6 month while you optimize your game than to come here each day to scratch every thread to know if there is something to bite. I'm in dev myself (C# / T-SQL / Powershell, doubt I can help you héhé). When my boss is asking for an ETA, I think of something fair, and I multiply it by a factor between 1.5 & 3.

So, I will picture myself a colorfull progress bar of how many month for the Race update ? BETA ? Release ? You may have a little "fair enough" timeframe / goal !

I'm picky because I appreciate you.

On-Topic- They have a ton of work, and an update takes time, patience is key to success. Good things happen to those who wait. They have to code, and as said earlier, if you fix a bug, there will likely be more.
