...Will it be a 90s one or a modern one? There is reason for both options, but which will the devs ultimately make? Will they 1.) Stick to their liking of older cars and make an older minivan based off of things like the Aerostar or the first generation Sienna? 2.) Since minivans are mostly a more modern style, make a modern one to go with the ETKs and Hirochis and add more diversity to the model year range in the game?
Well if BeamNG is going to have a wide variety of cars they can't all be old crapmobiles. Also I want some nice grunt from my car (without turbocharging) when merging onto the freeway in WCUSA
@RedRoosterFarm I believe is making a minivan, it will be done when he has time though so while there is a thread to look up, I wouldn't beg and plead with him about it. If his other work is anything to go by, it should be totally awesome. Oh, and in response to the video in this thread above, I don't think I've ever owned a car that fast with the exception of a 92 SHO my ex and I had, it was chipped and all, that thing was a beast.
The Plymouth Voyager was around from Lee Ioccoca (who invented the many-sizes-and-forms-fit-all K-car platform) from 85 and up, and was pretty much what started the minivan craze. Lee was brilliant. I personally had a 98 trans sport SE (pontiac minivan, 3400 series pushrod 6 engine, front-drive, 185HP, dual sliding doors), I loved it, it was basically a chevrolet Lumina chassis but taller, stretched a bit. Looked like the bodystyle of the white Chevy in the pictures above. put 179,800 miles on it and it had only 2nd and 3rd gear left the last 30,000 miles, A shift-solenoid got stuck and lost 1st and 4th gear. So either the Chevy or the Plymouth, it's 50/50, the Chevy was made to resemble the Caravan/Voyager by design, vs the dust-buster Lumina-APV of 91~96 model years.
I would love to see a LeGran based DustBuster minivan because I like seeing things in this game that other games don't have and I want to see more body styles for existing platforms. Unfortunately the devs currently are not terribly interested in new body styles for existing cars (the Roamer being a strange exception). A microvan would also be cool, a nice way to have Another unique vehicle. With the high quantity of requests for modern cars and minivans and few requests for more variety in vehicular ethnicity, a modern minivan would be a good way to kill two birds with one stone and what I think is most probable.
For the love of god, not a 90s minivan, we have wayy too many 90s cars. And please not and Ibishu, we have enough of those.
