My dad's worst car was a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. Broke down too many times to count, Stalled all the time (It was an auto), Completely rusted out after 5 years of ownership. We were going to sell it, but we got an inspection and the whole bottom of the car was filled with rust holes. We ended up scrapping it.
The reason why I created this thread is because for something to read when I'm bored, also a suggestion on what car to not get
My mum´(later my first ''car'')Felicia 1.3 1999 was a disaster. When she brought it home,i was a happy 4 year old.Well, that crashed to the ground after the A/C stopped working after a month. It was followed after a week with ignition. Then nothing happened for about 5 months until a hole in the exctractors appeared. After 3 years the front lights stopped working. There were many issues with the car so i put up the major ones. PS:When i was 18,i crashed it.
Would have expected this from Chrysler. GM's were crap back then too but I wouldn't have expected it to be that bad :O
we had two of these as well but ours worked fine one got rearended in a crash and the other one was sold after 4 years for a octavia because we needed more space the only problem was that they rusted really fast
I have 2 contenders for worst. 1. Wartburg 353. 2. 2015 Ford C-Max. It's a manual, so I missed out on the rought shifts and stuff the US guys are experiencing, but there are some serious issues. The steering wheel is not centered since day 1, the dealer says it's a pothole, so no warranty. EVERYTHING in the interior rattles, dealer says he doesn't hear it, no warranty. Every time you hit the throttle, a squeek happens in the engine bay. I think it's the engine mount, but guess what the dealer says? He can't hear it, no warranty. The AC doesn't really do anything. It was terrible last year, but this year I had to set it to max fan speed with LO temp just to keep the car acceptable in 25 C° ambient. Can't wait until I take it in... Most reliable: 2002 Ford Focus. Yep, that's why the C-Max happened. Brand loyalty... 15 years and 300k km later it's still going strong with nothing but an alternator and a couple of ignition coils changed.
The ignition system was... Not exactly waterproof. As soon as it started raining, it was running on 2 cylinders. Then sometimes it spit oil on the spark plugs, which doesn't really help matters. Aside from that, it was fine. Just some small electronic niggles like wipers randomly turning on. Pretty easy fixes, just annoying when they happen once every 2 weeks.
I think this thread is dead again, I'm trying to keep comments rolling in .... because I'm a little bit bored
1997** Chrysler Intrepid. I was pretty young, I don't remember all the small issues like the power windows failing, however I do remember the transmission failing BEFORE it hit 50,000km My own first car was a 1999 Buick Century. White walls and everything. Head gasket blew at 47,000km (My Grandma put very few miles on it.) Absolutely every single Buick 3.1L blow their headgaskets. Love my Japanese cars. <3 2005 Acura TL? Mint. 2008 Infiniti G35x? Mint.
(Not the same one but very similar) Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0 diesel. I cant quite remember but it was something like the head gasket or cylinder heads failed numerous times, and the A/C in the back got jammed as well. @ast5515 same in my 16 c-max with the interior rattling, it is mostly cd player
