You would feel old if you saw all the new characters, it's very rare when they get added but over time the cast increased by a lot, I remember when there were just Darkstig, Sheriff and Wreckmeister, and now we have like maybe almost 20 characters? Of course only counting the ones who canonically appear in the videos, the lore goes way beyond them. And there's also the fan fictions some people still make, there used to be more people writing them, but some still do it
Yep The way it work is basically this: You contact them for a fake University Diplomat They give you a QR code to pay You pay They go byebye with your money Pretty lame fraud actually.
It goes deeper than this, and darker. Someone on the forums once posted a YouTube video documentary on these scams, and it had a ton of info. If it was just a lame scam, they wouldn't bother programming bots that can bypass the security of many websites such as this forum. Normally you can't comment without an account, these bots can. Messages from new users normally have to be manually verified, the bots bypass this. All other security stuff we normal users have no idea of, they also bypass. It's scary what they can do.
Such videos are mainly made for younger youtube users. Although the thumbnails are click bait, it does not change the fact that these videos get a lot of views.
Because I'm active on the forums lol, I happened to learn all of this in an old thread about those bots that is now probably locked
*for people that aren't even allowed to use YouTube --- Post updated --- Thats very scary. But the people with a brain don't really care because they won't fall for it NOT INSULTING ANYONE WHO FELL FOR THIS The real questions are: How do these bots bypass the verification? and uh Why do people have to scam this way? They would make more money if they would work as a programmer for a company. (i guess, unless those certificates aren't like 500$ each)
Usually people scam this way because it takes less effort to get easy money, and they find that preying on gullible people much more viable than actually working each day for the money.
They make bots for all kinds of stuff, seems like a profitable job if you attack millions of websites at the same time. But still obviously unethical
