I'm not sure if the clutch is slipping or if I'm being retarded.... I did a few 1st and 2nd gear pulls and nothing. But if you shift to fast between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd, it doesn't bite... It holds full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear just fine tho.
I want to install a supercharger that I ordered few months ago for my Toyota FJ Cruiser and fit with new speedometer that increase up to 300km/h or 186mph.ECU tuning will be included to increase from 276bhp to 420bhp.
Bought fire extinguishers and high visibilty jackets for both the BMW and Ford, also a Prestigio RoadRunner 570 GPS dashcam for the Ford(BMW already has a dashcam) and an electrical pump for the BMW. That was technically yesterday though... Today I took a video of my Probe. Reason being that I am a bit worried about it. The engine has a knocking sound, and I cant figure out what it could be. Only occurs when the engine is cold. Searched around and asked several mechanics, but no certain-ish answer. To me it does not seem like valves, they would be faster and higher pitched? At least as much as I have heard valve noises. Also it can't be the fuel rail, since I can hear it separetly. Then there are the connecting rods, which should be louder? And then I have heard that it could be the belt tensioner, seems somewhat likely, the noise does come from around that spot, but how would engine temperature change that? And every now and then I wonder, maybe its the alternator?, or the A/C pump? One thing I can say: I am NOT a mechanic and at the end of the day I am only guessing...
Ive been working on the Monterey for the past week. I currently have the valve covers and carb off, getting ready to take off the intake manifold so i can change the gasket out. I also need new valve covers as it seems because the sides are all cracked up. Time for some nice "performance" valve covers to make my car appear more powerful than it is lol.
I decided to get pretty wild today so I. . . Topped off the coolant Flipped the air cleaner lid and got a new air filter. One like this: Call me crazy.
Sure ! For now, It's only bought (200€,yep), So it's not at home for now, I would get it next weekend, so more info here
Off-course ! This going to be a lot of work, the frame is quite rusty, but nothing irreparable. And I have 2 motors and all panels x2. So it was a pretty good deal I guess.
Be glad, high mileage oil is good for engines with high mileage, because logically, that makes sense. Take my dad's truck for example: 05 F-150 XLT SuperCrew. Approximately 106,000 km. No major problems, except for when the fuel pump driver module broke, cutting off fuel flow to the engine. When that happened, the engine shut off, my dad caused the brake rotors to warp. The fuel pump driver module is located on a frame member behind the fuel tank, and to the left of the spare tire when viewed from underneath. This is what it looked like: That's the power of Canadian winters for ya!
Did smoke really start pouring out of the dash? It's a Chrysler product, so that's very possible, but it kinda seems like an excuse. Even if it did, why wouldn't you close the vents and open the windows? Or at least brake and steer gently off the road? It seems like you just cranked the wheel to the right without touching the brakes.. Anyway, today I cleaned the Maxima since I finished painting the rear quarter. Base color is off so it looks pretty crappy, but better than looking at Bondo. Washed it good, vacuumed the interior, and poked at the floorboard hole. 12 years old and it's already got a decent sized hole in the corner of the passenger flooboard. (Didn't look at the drivers side.) My car still beats it by far in terms of floorboard holes, but at least they're all in the back.
