In Kentucky, we have a lot of class american muscle cars, and a ton of pickups. The car culture here is quite interesting though. We do have a fair amount sports cars though, mainly in bigger cities though,
Actual gearheads or people who pay shops to "build" their stuff for them? If the latter - Any diesel truck If the former - Older civics, subaru sedans/hatches, and older trucks.
You know most C4 Corvettes (Well at least the ones I seen in PA, NY, GA, West Virginia, and Virginia) on Craigslist are about $5000 USD and the Z31 are about the same but I have seen some go cheaper.
Cheap car prices are sometimes a gamble. For example, a mediocre PT Cruiser can be anywhere between $700 and $3000.
Yeah but most are kinda cheap https://binghamton.craigslist.org/s...orvette&min_auto_year=1968&max_auto_year=1996
I'm inclined to disagree with you. At least in my opinion, a gearhead is someone who is both knowledgeable about the intricacies of a car and is also mechanically inclined enough to be able to repair/modify it. Not necessarily a good thing, because not everyone who can "repair" should repair. Regardless, a gearhead usually would have a ton of tools and mechanical knowledge. Gearheads look at cars from the mechanical, engineering point-of-view while an enthusiast views cars for being cars. On the other hand, someone who has shops do all the work for them is a car enthusiast. They enjoy cars but not aren't necessarily able to do the work themselves, or they just prefer professionals do the work. They may very well understand how cars work, but they've never changed spark plugs or swapped valve covers themselves. Both of these parties enjoy cars - that bit is self-evident. This isn't to call one group "better" than the other, but rather it is to differentiate between the two. They aren't one-and-the-same.
In a way, they are. (Unless petrolheads and gearheads are different) I'm an enthusiast, and I would never go to a repair shop or auto shop, if I was able to do it myself.
Well, for the sake of the argument there is naturally some overlap between the two as they are undoubtedly similar in nature. Everyone has their limits, some people can't change a spare tire while others can tear an entire motor apart in an afternoon. In reality, assigning groups to people is rather arbitrary in and of itself because there will always be "exceptions" and it really just comes down to each person's interpretation.
car scene in my country is horrible. You get Renaults from 4-19 riced out (The old renaults), you get Sanderos Riced, You get Logans riced, you get Corsas riced. Jesus. Everything gets riced in my country. Even some bmw's. and not even fast ones, but a bmw 316i that makes 0-60 in 4 years
In Mississippi, there are 4 types of car people I have come across. The Wannabe Car-Guys: This is popular in my school. They think they know everything about cars, and most of the time they do well, but they don't know shit about engines or older cars, like the Nissan Micra Superturbo or Renault 5 Turbo. The Muscle Guys: You can't drive 5 miles without seeing some sort of old (or new) muscle car or american sports car either rusting away, or a completely restored or modified. The Supercar Owners: Over in Biloxi, Mississippi, there is a Cars and Coffee meet every once and a while, and I was actually able to go there (not taking my Z, sadly), and while there, I met this one guy who owned an Audi R8 (I think it was the V10 Plus), and he let me sit inside for a picture (below, along with the link to my Car Throttle post about it). The Ricers: I live in the part of Mississippi where people think donking FWD Maximas is cool, so they do exactly that. This is an actual photo I took, below with the R8 pic. Don't ask why only half the damn car is donked. Not even the Civics are safe either. There's one near my school with a fartcan, V-TEC sticker, and BBS rims. This is the biggest post I have ever made on the BeamNG forums so far, for some reason. https://www.carthrottle.com/post/x774pv4/
VW Golfs With green hupcaps (yes i remember seeing one like that in my area) and it has a and a fricking sticker
