Improved door frame design and more work on the rear subframe. Progress is slow but steady as the school term commences (imported from here) (imported from here)
Hey, I really like the idea of having an MK7 Golf, so I did what little I could. I saw you hadn't started the engine. I'm not much of a programmer, but I know a fair bit about cars and math. Thus, I created an an engine with the specs of the GTI off of a dyno run I found as the manufacturer numbers are likely very underrated. I accounted for the ~15% loss in power for FWD cars. That is to say, the dyno gives power at the wheel; I converted it to engine power as friction is the game includes engine friction. I also set the idle and max RPMs to 900 and 7000 as they are in the GTI. I then made both the 6m and the DSG transmissions with the proper ratios I found in the press release. The real car actually uses a different final drive ratio for gears 1-4 and 5-6. I didn't know how to set that, so I just stuck with the 1-4 final drive ratio and changed gears 5 and 6 to have the correct over all ratio. I left all the other stuff from the sunburst JBeams I made these out of. I attached everything in a .txt. This page has the press releases and could be helpful for other info: http://www.ausmotive.com/2013/04/23/volkswagen-golf-vii-gti-in-detail.html Here's an example of my (admittedly minor) work: http://www.beamng.com/threads/15766-DSC-Bora-suspension-drag-and-gearing-modifications If that helps, I'd love to do any suspension tuning if you could use it. Otherwise, thanks for making this and I really hope it reaches completion. Good luck.
Wow this will definitely be helpful once I get round to it I redid the banner picture again with the current up to date model. Spot the difference! (imported from here)
I was really hoping someone would make this! I love the performance mk7 golfs, especially the GTD (rims are great and engine is more economic ) but I love the GTI just as much Thank you for making this and the model looks amazing!
Some updates on subframes and suspension. General fixes to the underside shape as well. (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here)
suggestion. for the cheap/frugal trim, it should be the TDI "clean" diesel in my opinion. i think it'd be fun to knock around
Realized I missed some stuff in my earlier post. Because I worked off of a sunburst engine tune, I was missing throttle sensitivity, braking coefficient, and burn efficiency. This new version has those. Also, this keeps looking better and better.
