Ay this one for you Last one, at least for a lil while I swear. 7th Gen Ibishu Covet (2002-05) Lore and Engines and Markets and shi: The 6th gen was beloved everywhere, from normal people to enthusiasts and broke teenagers, it was an icon. So for the next one, what did Ibishu try to do? Well, they decided to focus less on sportiness for the next generation and focus more on economics. It was available in sedan, coupe, and hatch body styles, as usual, and there was even a 5 door hatch for the first time. So how did they shift focus? First off the front suspension changed from double wishbone to MacPherson struts, which was did to increase interior space but it made the 7th gen less fun to drive. 2nd off, the engines. Most of them were E series engines with T-EVC (Timed Electronic Valve Control) like the previous generation, and these were the engines you could get depending on market: (JDM) E15C: 1.5L SOHC T-EVC: 105 HP (JDM) E17C: 1.7L SOHC 3-stage T-EVC: 134 HP (EUDM) E14B6: 1.4L SOHC non-T-EVC: 90 HP (EUDM) E16F4: 1.6L SOHC T-EVC: 114 HP (USDM) E17A4: 1.6L SOHC T-EVC-E: 120 HP (USDM) E17A3: 1.6L SOHC non-T-EVC: 116 HP (USDM) E17A5: 1.6L SOHC T-EVC: 132 HP There was also a diesel for European markets. It was a 1.7L turbodiesel making 100 HP, but nb cares abt that. However, the E17 commonly found in these had 0 aftermarket support whatsoever, due to the ECU being less tuner friendly than the previous gen D16, so if you wanted to mod these things (which very few people rarely did), you either had to buy an older Covet, a Seido (which is my lore friendly Acura) Antana/RCX Spec-S with the M20B2, or the GTz/Spec-R. Speaking of the GTz/Spec-R, lets get into those. The GTz had the M20B3 making 173 HP, and it had T-EVC-i, which was like T-EVC, but with more computers. It was also the last Covet GTz to be a hatchback, as the rest after that were all sedans/coupes. However, even though the GTz did get an M series engine, the best of the modern Ibishu engines to this day, it wasn't as high revving as it only revved to 7000 RPM, a whole 1000 RPM lower than the previous GTz. Due to that and it being heavier, even with the HP bump, performance was similar to the previous gen GTz. It also handled worse due to the suspension. It also has a boner shifter. The Spec-R though, it was a solid car. It came with the legendary M20B in Japan, making 214 HP and revving to 8600(!!) RPM. This engine is common for engine swaps in not just this generation Covet, but older Covets and other Ibishu's as well. The EUDM version came with the M20B2 making 200 HP, which is still good, though it revved to 7900 RPM. These are especially considered as the Spec-R to have in Europe, and while it isn't as good as the previous Spec-R, its still a great car, though it also has the boner shifter. Despite all the changes that made it objectively worse enthusiast wise, they were still popular, as they were still great economy cars, selling 1.5 million in the US alone, and 8 million globally, so fuck enthusiasts ig. It was bought by the same people that bought 6th gens, except enthusiasts (unless it's the GTz and Spec-R). Configs & Corresponding Bodystyles and Engines: JDM: 15i (5-door hatch) (E15C) 17iE (5-door hatch/sedan) (E17C) Type L (sedan/5-door hatch) (E16B) Type LS (sedan) (E17B with 3-stage T-EVC) Spec-R (hatch) (M20B) EUDM: 1.4i (E14B2 or E14B3) (3-dr hatch/sedan) 1.6i (E16F4) (3 and 5-door hatch/sedan) 1.7iTD (hatch/sedan) GTz (M20B3) (hatch) Spec-R (hatch) (M20B) USDM: DX (coupe/3-dr hatch/sedan) (E17A3) LX (sedan/coupe/3 and 5-dr hatch) (E17A3) HX (coupe) (E17A4) ZX (coupe/sedan/3-dr hatch) (E17A5) GTz (3-dr hatch) (M20B3) There will be modded and race versions and stuff ofc bla bla bla this is getting redundant Yea if I list the reason why this would be cool I'd sound redundant so just read my previous 2 threads as to why I want this because its the same here. But ik the devs and modders got better stuff to do so I do wanna make this myself, but like I alr said I gotta learn all the stuff needed to make a car mod for BeamNG, and this is 3rd on the suggestion/priority list as I'd wanna do the 6th gen Covet and MK4 Astro/Ventus first then this car. So yea this is gonna be my last suggestion for a while unless I ask for like a Sunburst based on the 2nd gen Impreza but then I'd js be doing too much, which I alr am tbh I got a whole lotta suggestions tho lmao
