might want to verify integrity bud, or, go to your userfolder, delete the temp folder, and deep clean cache. see if that fixes it, if no, then its definitely a mod

can at least the wheel selector be changed a bit, so that we dont have to remember how each wheel looks..
considering there are quite a few people who use the dtroxx wheel pack and some cars have custom wheels as well.
Would be a good addition i think :)

It would appear that you are unaware that "bootlicker" is an insult...
Besides that, I'm no "bootlicker" as you'd like to call me. I've certainly given the new UI it's fair share of criticism, specifically on the button assignments.

    1) Somebody who replied seems to have also gotten the impression that that was the point you were making, so clearly you made it sound like you too know that you're outnumbered and that the majority of people don't like the broken, useless new UI. It's not needed and people in here that used the old UI mostly agree. In terms of multiple interfaces, if Microsoft changed your computer's UI to be a complete and utter mess would you be mad? Would you want the old one back? Answer the questions, don't deflect on me.

    2) It's not my job or anyone else's to fix the mess the BeamNG developers have made here. I was saying if somebody does it out of respect for the old menu then they have a lot of people's seal of approval. I know you don't understand having only played the game for under a year now, probably not even exploring the numerous advantages the old menu had before this one rolled out, but it really worked a lot better and "if it ain't broke don't fix it" definitely applies here.

To clarify for you Agent_Y, the old UI didn't break anything before, it all worked, so why would it suddenly do so now? And even if it did, what did we get in exchange? SOMETHING MORE BROKEN! wow! So cool. And we STILL can't even toggle of the annoying sci fi selection sound yet without sacrificing other integral sounds of the game. Much easier to fix something that's not broken then put out a dumpster fire.

I never called you specifically a bootlicker, unless you believe you are one. I've seen you helping people fix this garbage fire and for that you have my respect. In terms of criticism, the UI they had can be criticized but at least it always worked from the time I got the game, and that was pushing 5 years ago now. I still have issues with this new UI as it's laggy, horrible to navigate and you can't modify cars and see real time changes. It's horrible, the old UI should be optional.

The old UI WAS broke from a technical standpoint
This update was intended to fix some major under-the-hood problems, the new layout and eyecandy stuff is just a side effect
I hate to be crude, but why don't you piss off with that elitist BS?

I've used every Windows version since 95. I still often use the controversial Windows 8 interface in Server 2008/R2 guise to this day. I also regularly use a multitude of Linux desktop environments, all of varying intuitiveness. I've swapped between Android and iOS several times. I am not shy to change and likely never will be. When something isn't in the place I expect it to be then I work out where it is and remember it for next time. Yeah there are terrible interfaces out there... GIMP being one of them. Blender used to have a horrible interface before 2.x. You can't draw parallels between something like Windows (commercial software in public release) and a driving game in active development and early access. They're not the same thing.
Again with the false consensus fallacy... and what do you mean "if it ain't broke..."? The old interface was horribly broken, you were probably just used to it, and now you're throwing a tantrum like some teenager who's mother has cleaned their room for them, and now can't find the lotion because it was definitely under the pile of papers on the desk before and why won't she just leave my shit alone?

I see a lot of whining, but are you actually reporting issues? Stop calling it a dumpster fire and be productive. HOW is it broken? What isn't working? What exactly is worse than it was before? Can you tell the difference between a removed feature and a bug? If something isn't working for you but it is for others then share screenshots and/or videos so they can be fixed in a patch. You mentioned not being able to see realtime changes in vehicle customisation, but I can't replicate that because it's working as normal for me. It's annoying I have to keep repeating this, but the game is in alpha. If you're expecting a fully working polished product at this stage then I don't know what to tell you... I dunno... grow up?

Hopefully I'm in the right place but apologize if I'm not. I've never done a feedback post for this game but this new UI update is definitely something that is ruining the experience for me.

While the layout itself is fine it's the constant lagging and freezing that makes the game hard to play at times. For example, in any map the first time when I try to click on the "vehicles" tab to switch my vehicle the entire game becomes unresponsive and takes at least 45 seconds to resume functionality. Although the old UI wasn't lightning quick I never had problems like this. Also for some reason (not sure if it's a separate problem) the torque curve UI widget always seems to blank out every time I switch vehicles.

The layout and design is a fine evolution in my opinion but the unrefined and clunky nature of the UI system is a much more important issue.

In the render options in the camera path editor, it says "blue shit" instead of "blue shift"

I feel you but according to some people in here we just need to be good boys and suck it up, let the devs ruin the UI in the name of unnecessary "progress" that was never needed, that we can't even opt out of. This kind of passive attitude is how things get destroyed, such as this once beautiful game. Every example you gave is on the money with me and countless others, but apparently the vocal minority, just like in real life, has to cry out claims of us being inconsiderate to the poor, desolate BeamNG team. How will they ever implement the old UI or make it optional? It's such an insane task to bring back something that's code already existed.

I'm willing to bet the devs already scrapped the old code out of spite for our calls to them to at least make the old UI optional. But don't tell the white knights in here any of that, they'll tell you "It's fine" "The old interface was horribly broken" and other blatant lies. Be careful mentioning any issues in here or you'll get gaslighted by the vocalists who insist on letting the devs get away with a fundamentally broken UI and make everyone else eat it up.

Bring back the old UI or make it optional, I will not stop posting until I see a developer justify this UI change personally. All you white knights keep trying to put me on blast and make yourselves look even more complacent, this UI is broken, just accept everyone's having far more issues with it then the old, usable UI.

Game was working way better before, and was still in Alpha, so that argument can go out the window. What exactly is worse? See me and this other users complaints, which line up with many others as well. Can you not read? Everything is broken, annoying or doesn't have any reason to be changed, like the layout. The issue I mentioned is constantly mentioned throughout the comments on here, so it's clearly effecting a lot of people

Also nice making yourself look ignorant by throwing personal insults around, which was completely unnecessary. You have no right to try and call me out for such behaviour anymore after all that jumble of insults you made.

Perhaps this is our divine punishment for begging for a new UI for 2 years straight. I sorta wish they held back on the UI update, as it clearly isn't close to being ready yet. But at the same time, I think we've been spoiled, and pretty much everything the devs have released in the past 2 or 3 years has been in a finished or almost flawless state with only a few minor bugs. That being said, I understand why they released it now, as we get to test it out and push it to it's limits to find flaws and report them.
You guys are acting like this is the end of the world, like the devs aren't reading this and are not going to improve it.

The only thing close to an "insult" he said was "grow up", and meanwhile you said way worse before... And please actually report issues instead of repeating stuff that was already said or saying generic stuff like "it's all broken". With this attitude I doubt they will personally respond to you like you want.
Back on topic: I don't think the separation of the esc menu from the radial menu was a good idea. Esc menu has a ton of unused space in the middle and everything is on the top, which is like the opposite of a good menu design lol. The mouse cursor of a player always instinctively goes to the middle of the screen when you open a menu, and you placed it as far away from the center as possible. With the radial menu, you had basically some of the same options but way closer to the center of the screen, which was really handy when they opened at once. And I don't get what's the need of having 2 separate menus in 2 separate sections of the screen opened by 2 separate buttons that do mostly the same.

This, you and I can agree on. They should've delayed until it was at least useable. I still think for now the old UI should be optional, until this one gets sorted out. Can we all at least agree on that?

Here's your developer sight. The main one.
And while it IS more laggy than before for some things and there are broken things, the dev say here that the old code was only working by chance.

I mean yes, but would it be possible for the two UIs to cohabit with each other ? For example, the map feature would need to work with the older ui, and making two such big things cohabit together isn't very practical code-wise, i think.

Gonna be honest, that sounds like a horrible idea that would push us back even farther. As the devs have stated in previous posts, the old UI was very broken and interfered with alot of things. Two entirely seperate UI's would be a shit ton of coding/time to make them coexist that they could use to work on fixing the new UI. For now the devs have made their choice of path, and we must follow along. I can assure you that this will get better.

Its hard to comment on this new UI as it is rather buggy and glitchy.

    Looks and layout seems fine.

Just fix it please, its preventing me from enjoy the game.

I've read the dev post and they seem pretty regretful about releasing the UI in it's current state. Overall things could be worse I suppose. Guess we won't get the old UI back anyways so gonna have to try and get the new one right. Cheers everyone sorry for the heated discussions earlier, if this new UI is fixed maybe it will be ok.

It'll probably be fixed in the next update that will release before christmas, hope you will be happy with it then.
