Well, a lot of cars lack some details (both minor and major) even the newest ones. For example a lot of them don't have ashtrays and lighters, especially cars from 50-90 which is strange. Most old models have unlabelled or copied same button textures on dashboard.

"Body" part is quite light (like only "shell" weight is counted) and door panels weight absolute nothing so any race car version in game is heavier than road legal car. Lighter race dashboard or "race body" option would be nice.

Bolide under the shell is a mess (mostly because it's old and simple model). For example air coming through front grille can't escape. Radiator is sitting in a box without any airflow, there is only an intake. Similar with engine bay but there is only output, since side intakes are "sealed" if we look inside. However I like two vents that you can see through them making better airflow for brakes. Also oil radiator is sitting right behind the engine on the bottom - basically in a box next to the big heater with minimal airflow.

Similar problem is in SBR4 with front radiator, but worse. No intakes and it just sitting right behind luggage completely blocked. There are two big output at the back, perfect place for two smaller radiators - something that most designers and engineers doing nowadays in every mid engine car.

Maybe they are small details, but what you see you cannot unsee.

honestly more fresh jbeam cars> updated mesh models. So I am disappointed that this next one is such a shitbox and will be the last

    What are you talking about?

    A) having high quality cars mixed with low quality cars would feel awful in the game. From a quality standpoint, this stuff has to be done. It's far from just updates to mesh models, it's bringing the entire vehicle up to par. And the GM got some nice additional parts too.

    B) Are you suggesting that the Wendover is a bad car and will be the last released? We currently don't have a bad car in game aside from base models. The LeGran is actually a good car when fully upgraded, the 90's Pessima... Well, it could be worse. So another lackluster car is really needed, not everything must be a sports car. As for the "last", it's the last of the 2012/2013 batch, and probably the last while the game is in alpha, not the last going in game at all.

This quality you speak of is negligible to most. Better to have more better cars than waste time updating old assets that nobody cares about other than those with High end systems that cling to this drawn-out aged idea of quality over quantity to no end

It's not interesting, hardly anyone would drive it if it weren't for the fact it's new. Then the honeymoon phase will wear off quick. People will go back to the best ones like 200bx and Dseries and complain about lack of interesting cars again
Good for you if you like the shiter cars, But any car can be made into shit but it's much harder to turn it into a good after

If you have a good car with a good and stiff, near race ready chassis, you can turn it into shit or have it for whatever you want. How do you not see this?

Edit: Ok if you want and example of a good newer car, how about that newfangled mid engined vette? The chassis on that will be miles ahead for one.

Except people do care about these older assets. I hardly even touch the ETK 800, but I use things like the van, GM, and so on. It makes no sense to just leave existing cars in the dust.

Neither I don't use that bimmer. No idea who wanted it but it's there. Maybe I'll use it more

They can be updated but now isn't the time. There's another angle to this which I can't quite explain that boils down to this belief: The more interesting and/or newer cars in the game, the bigger the playerbase and better the game will progress.

I see the Bolide as salvagable, but it's gonna need a ton of work. It's just a generic wedge right now, and they definitely could be able to turn it into a true 80's entry level supercar. Besides the points you touched on, they need to redo the anachronistic Polizia version which seems to be from the 80's according to the older license plates and model years of the Bolide, yet it has the modern Polizia livery, and LED lighting. Also going to mention how slicktop lighting configurations aren't really even seen outside North America anyway.

Well others do, stop thinking that you speak for everybody here.
Now is THE time to update the older vehicles. For career mode, it is crucial that all vehicles are at the same or similar levels of quality. It would be horrible to be forced to use the newer (release wise, not model year) vehicles solely because they're the only high quality ones.

I was very disappointed to see the reworked GM not add interior emergency equipment.
    --- Post updated ---
It's almost certain the developers are aware of the "boring" reputation of the Wendover and are going to add some rather "interesting" configurations and parts to counteract that reputation.

It is far from negligble difference in quality. The fake body on frame cars and poor textures are difficult to ignore. If you want quanitity over quality, this is not the game for you.

And you want a game full of only performance cars? The career economy and in game traffic would be ridiculous.

I don't recall saying I speak for everyone. Normally I'd say it's rude and out of line, But I really don't care

Nah, it's not crucial or critical. It's the wrong time not the right time. The right time is yet to come.
I can use cars just fine on my system and I don't complain about it not matching the rest.

Since he doesn't care about quality, we should introduce him to World of Mods, performance cars galore!

It is clearly the right time. Getting everything to the same quality level is critical for the career mode experience.

I've been trying to figure out what configs the Wendover will have. I'm really not sure. A wanna be sporty version is a safe bet. It would be a very strange choice for a police car, though a campus security sorta deal is a possibility. It's too big for the 4/6 cylinder demo derby at my local track, though I hear it fits into classes at other people's tracks. Race cars on the whole would be difficult in a big FWD boat with a small engine bay.
