Update Speculation thread

It seems bizarre to me to base when the update will come out based on past updates. I agree it’s soon, but I don’t think the fact that a previous update was released on the 9th has anything to do with anything.

Last year had a very odd release schedule because the Automation Collaboration dictated the 0.13 release date, however there is often a (late) summer update. From my experience, there are usually 3-4 major updates a year. There is usually one in the spring, one in the summer, and at least one in late fall/winter. If one looks at the first post in this thread, there is a link to a breakdown of durations between updates. As of late, the average is a little over 3 months in-between updates. We are nearing that time at this point.

 

I’m aware, I just don’t think that because an update was released on a certain date in the past, that date is more likely to have an update.

 

I've noticed that updates typically release in relatively similar time windows in previous years. This year should be somewhat similar to 2017, the most recent year without a major event dictating major release schedule changes (Automation Collaboration). 0.9 was released around Easter. In theory, 0.16 would have released somewhat around Easter as well but the Nvidia driver debacle pushed it's release back a few weeks to early May. I still somewhat assume that this year will be somewhat similar to 2017 regardless of that setback. In that case, 0.10 released August 9th, and it would be reasonable to assume that 0.17 will release in a similar timeframe, either this week or next. A sizable amount of content has been revealed between 0.16 and now, more than enough to merit an update. Teasers have significantly slowed down as of late (except for the flowgraph which is likely not ready for the next update, but who knows) which is common before an update, so it is very likely that it will be released relatively soon.

It starts to seem like bluebuck may not be in this update, or maybe the devs are being secretive so we can experience it ourselfs

 

I wouldn't mind if they upload the old maps to the Repo, for nostalgia sakes.

 

Why the update could not be released tomorrow ? When they posted a teaser for piccolina and italy, the next day the update was released

Damn the abandonned track looks amazing at hirochi racetrack! Can't wait to play on those, it's like receiving completely new maps!

 

I don't care if we get the Bluebuck in the new update or not, the amount of work put into those maps is impressive.
They are almost like brand new maps with the size of the changes.

Sure it would be nice to have the Bluebuck, but it's not like we are never going to get it. Patience is key
