I always saw 1.0 as the point where BeamNG actually has a "game" element. As of now we have a sandbox to play with, but 1.0 would be the point where BeamNG would actually be a game, not just a sandbox. I also see 1.0 as the point where BeamNG might switch from dedicating all of their resources to game development to a mix of game development and other projects.
Based off https://www.beamng.com/attachments/differences-gif.563788/ the "downtown" area is the same size but there may be a new building on the "Northeast" side of town.
We aren't removing any roads or trails from the revamped maps in order to retain scenario compatibility. Edit: Yes, really really. You can see that coastal road in the before/after comparison screenshots.
If I remember right that small scenic road does not have any scenarios and or time trails related to it.
I hope mitch is right and the tiny coastal road will not been removed as i really liked this tiny bumby straight road
This is shaping up to be a wickedly good update, and we may see it relatively soon. Bluebuck Some ECUSA fixes Plenty of things I’m forgetting
I wouldn't be expecting it till August. Last year was a strange year for updates due to the Automation Collaboration pushing a bunch of dates around. In 2017, 0.10 came out in early August, after 0.9 came in April. 0.16 was delayed this year to May due to the whole Nvidia debacle, so I wouldn't get my hopes up until late August at the soonest. Also don't forget upgrades to other older maps, such as Port, Industrial Site, Small Island, Derby Arenas, and possibly Hirochi Raceway and JRI.
I’m most likely wrong, but I was thinking there is a small chance we may get the update next week. Thursday is the 4th of July, and the devs seem to like to releasing updates around holidays. It looks like they are making good progress on the Bluebuck and ECUSA improvements. It would make sense to release an American car, and updates for an American map around an American holiday. It has been about 2 months since the last update (May 3rd), shorter than normal, but enough time to get some work done.
I highly doubt it. The developers have not put out nearly enough information to indicate an update coming soon. We don't have any completed pictures of the Bluebuck, and little information on ECA.
4th of July would be possible, but highly unlikely. I'm thinking around late July / early August, which, if the rest of the year follows a predictable update schedule, would allow for a Christmas update.
It's certainly a possibility, especially as we have been getting heaps of teasers recently. I believe even Nadeox's most recent post in community screens showed an improved tipper bed (I forgot the proper name) for the T-Series. So IMO it's unlikely, but not out of the question completely...
