Perhaps we'll get those versions.
The wendover is supposed to have the same engines as the legran.
The aforementioned Ferrari-stomping Buick GNX was powered by a turbocharged 3.8L V6 - not dissimilar the existing 3.8L supercharged V6 currently found in the Sport Legran. Much of the GNX's magic came from the way the power was transferred to the wheels, although the special turbocharger and other engine goodies developed by ASC/McLaren were definitely part of the equation. You can read more on the development of the GNX here.
Granted, the torque and horsepower figures for the GNX are wildly above what we see on the Bruckell V6 as it currently exists in-game (I suspect that has to do with the difference between a supercharger and a turbocharger), but I wonder if we'll be able to go a little further (perhaps up to stage 2 or 3) with the Wendover's supercharger.
The aforementioned GNX was a post-muscle RWD coupe, not a fullsize FWD barge.
As much as I love the GNX and want a counterpart in BeamNG, I have to admit the Solidad really should stick with the big lumbering boaty wanna be luxury coupe theme. A 1980's performance FWD fullsize car built from a wanna be luxury car platform is a bit weird. That isn't to say anything about my hopes for a version with a bigger turbo than it has any right to have though.
Eh, only a tiny amount of H-bodies were ever coupes IRL, it makes no sense to abandon the idea of a sedan. That's like making a 2000s Japanese midsize/D-class family sedan a coupe only, because the Accord coupe and Solara existed. Large coupes were well on their way out by 1986.
The Bonneville never was even offered as a coupe. Buick LeSabre coupes were more common than Olds 88 coupes, but still very rare and probably 7-10% of production. The Floaty, mediocre characteristics of the Wendover are more befitting of the sedan body, anyway.
Plus, the Moonhawk is coupe only, despite it's real live counterpart (the 73-77 GM A-body) having a sedan and less common wagon variant.
I believe it's being made a coupe to make it less similar to the legran. And anyway, it's an 80s FWD car, so it's not very similar to the moonhawk either.
The LeGran/Wendover similarity issue has always been there. Some people think that 80's 4 door wedges with the same engines are too similar, some think that the size difference is enough. Personally I was actively excited for 2 cars which are fairly similar but one is much larger than the other. I guess it is what it is, a boaty coupe has been high on my BeamNG wishlist too.
I know I'm not alone in wanting passenger vehicles to get multiple body styles ans disagreeing with the "a coupe and sedan and convertible and wagon are all too similar to eachother" thing... If we can get multiple bodys for a chop top '53 Sepcial or dune buggy Piccolina, surely a sedan AND coupe Soliad are justified. It would be an appropriate car to set the precident too with how controversial it has been.
I get that. And sure, it's quite different from the Moonhawk, I think it was a missed opportunity to offer the Moonhawk in only the coupe, and coupes were far more common in 1976 than the late 80s which means developing the wendover solely as a coupe makes even less sense, and it doesn't have any performance credentials like the rwd Thunderbird/Lincoln MKVII either...
I guess they may be aiming for a brougham-ified version IE the 86-91 Eldorado or Olds 98, but that would require a change in the styling which, in it's original form is heavily Bonneville influenced, which was notably sportier/firmer than it's paltform mates. Of course, we don't know what it will look like until release so it will probably be an aggregate of Bonneville/LeSabre/88 styling cues.
I would remain optimistic on the Soliad Wendover. I will not force an opinion until I have seen the car in the game and moving.
Everytime a new vehicle is teased, someone just has to start crying about it. Hell, such a happy and grateful community.
Considering the Wendover is no longer being created by Gabester, has been changed to a coupe, and we only saw a very early render of several years ago, I wouldn't be surprised if it has drastically changed in styling and trim.
Usually the complaining about people complaining is more than the complaints about the car. I haven't seen any real complaints about this, just people discusing the change.
The biggest complaint about the situation is the fact that we don't get passenger cars with multiple body styles. This is a perfectly valid issue which has been around for a long time, not just the Soliad.
Lets not turn this into the Piccolina situation. Some people pointed out valid concerns in a civil manner not meant as negative, then certain people absolutely freaked out that someone had anything other than praise. There is nothing wrong with pointing out that something is weird or content should be added.
Wenover bad, pliz cancle bceause i disagree with it and dont want other peple to hav fun
OK lets just be happy, I love the idea of a FWD boat Coupe, But before that's that's even a thing we get the Bluebuck And the EV and am suremore
If you look at the specs of real H-Bodies and A-Bodies, you'll see it's not just the engine.
It's also the transmission and suspension, making the H pretty much a bigger A.

If the devs don't want to hear complaints, they shouldn't open to the community.

Why should anyone care about other people's fun more than their own fun?
I'd rather have something else. Maybe a rock-hard 60s luxury sedan (Imperial/suicide Continental), or a Radical-like trackday toy, or a modern hypercar (like a Chiron or 918).
im sure that the wendover is not a fullsize anymore
Do you not know that fullsize coupes exist?
I'll wait for the pictures first, right now I think it could be the Bonneville Coupe we never got to see. My issue is that I think the sedan Wendover version perfectly expressed the ridiculousness of the Bonneville, being a boring sedan with a fast coupe body styling.
