I understand ... but we can do like MudRunner : The trucks can transport longs thick logs (like the Pacific P-16), be a medic rescue truck, heavy tractor with a big trailer wich can transport others damaged trucks and/or cars, and I think they're more other things we could do with these. And I understand that the trucks are too big for the maps. but to be blunt, the argue of trucks to big cannot works when the game has the HT-55 and WL-40.
Perhaps the BeamNG developers share a similar outlook on politics to Lego—they deliberately avoid putting war‑related content on the surface. Even when it comes to military vehicles, they've only made a military ambulance (Stambello). I think creating content that is too closely tied to politics or war is not what the developers want, after all, the core of this game is still about driving… War is not good at all. War only destroys families and buildings, and along with that, it destroys countless vehicles that serve families or society, as well as the roads that carry them.
agree but can we say the DDR is war i dont know because the soviet and ddr is in theroey the same its still differnt and the live standers were much higher in the german ddr than soviet so i think they would do a trabi or a wartburg especial because there are german too sorrz for bad english
I agree, but what about tanks rolling over cars ? And to be true, that would be weird if the tank shoots on pedestrians ; unless they remove the blood and the possibility of dying and being dismembered in the game. If they are hurt, they take a ride in an ambulance to the hospital and the doctors nursed him back to health.
Fully agreed. The game really needs another European map and a Japanese one at minimum (we have so many Japanese domestic market cars and nowhere to drive them). My pick for a European map would be somewhere in northern or northwest France, to make use of all the Gendarmerie skins and have a different climate to Italy. As a wildcard, taking Polish Roads and turning into official content for the game would be cool to see, even if practically it would be challenging to figure out compensation for a map with that many contributors. That would be a great fit for Soviet vehicles.
It doesn't necessarily need to have its own distinct map. Current vehicles like the Ibishu Pigeon/Wigeon, FPU Wydra, and the autonomous traffic van, they too stick out like a sore thumb on most maps. If you want to get technical, they could theoretically exist in Germany, which BeamNG does officially include. My gripe with adding a soviet vehicle though is that the internet currently rotates about 8 to 9 models, and that's it. The aforementioned Lada 2105 "Riva" would be just about the worst possible pick, due to it being pretty much THE CAR, you can see it just about every-freaking-where. Plus, like mentioned, it is quite similar to the Miramar. Which was used as a base for the TAZ pack, which adds, you've guessed it, the Riva (and Niva). As a citizen of a post-soviet country who isn't blinded by nostalgia, I'm not really overjoyed about seeing a soviet vehicle be added. But if it were, I'd want to see something unique, something we don't see modeled much. Like for example the GAZ-13 "Chaika", the Tatra 613, ErAZ-762, Škoda 1203, ZSD Nysa, PAZ-3742, LuAZ-969, NSU Ro80. Or, we could go the route of concept cars, where there's interesting picks, such as the Škoda Ferat, IZH-13, ZIL-4102. Or, if you wanna go the absolute crazy route, there is that one diesel locomotive that was converted to a road vehicle, or the bizzare MAZ Perestroika.
I object. The instant that was in roblox car crushers it made everything start to lag out and go to hell. No war vehicles. If the devs try to do anything its going to be cargo related. They will go to aircraft well before they go military death sentence mode on the game. Bombs and realistic nukes that can destroy the game server in the future will stay with the mod community and NOT be part of the vanilla game because I know for a fact somebody will just ruin it for everyone using that to detonate entire servers over and over and basically ddos the games future mp. Theres already a few vehicle/props that can crash entire servers if placed at the right place at full pressure or scale. You drop the fps like a metal sledgehammer over a glass plate and by the time the fps regenerates the ping wouldve exceeded where the server would disconnect them. And thats with fully loaded trucks. Add a realistic NUKE into the game and everything in mp is trashed by trolls. with all of that said I hope the devs NEVER add a nuke truck. Trolls will tear the community TO BITS and bullies will get into every single server just to destroy the game because theres plenty out there that do that on purpose already. Its like a little dance. You gotta avoid tossing unrestrained power into the hands of the immature because it is just a green light for them to ruin the game for everyone violently --- Post updated --- I repeat. NO ICBMS they should add a mobile telescopic crane and tow winches first before going anywhere NEAR that
And many of the most-common Soviet vehicle archetypes would either be absurdly large (like the ICBM transporters) or too similar to current vehicles for the devs to include: We already have: -A small FR live-axle sedan (the Miramar) -Several large FR live-axle sedans (the Burnside/Bluebuck/GM) -A small, rear-engined economy car (the Piccolina) -An amphibious vehicle (the Wydra) -A tubular backbone van/truck with swing axles, an air-cooled engine, portal axles, and 6x6 drive (the Stambecco) -A dump truck (the HT-55) -A small off-roader (the Hopper) And for the other options which could happen (like a Wartburg or a Trabant), they'd require the devs to make whole new platforms and engines for little technological gain - which I don't see them being interested in. However, a vehicle like the Oka could work for several reasons: -It'd be way smaller than the Covet and different enough from the Pigeon/Wigeon -It would be our first "modern" city car -It could give us another small pickup truck (an archetype the devs have been expanding recently) -It could be our first "classic" electric car -There was a NEV version of the Oka sold in the US, as well as several other non-US cars (like the ZAP Xebra (Fulu FL5000ZK-1), Coda (Hafei Saibao), and Wheego Whip/LiFe (Shuanghuan Noble)), so it could work in the US. It could also re-use the Pigeon engine model, which is already in the common folder. I understand it's not what most people think of for a Soviet car model, but I think it's the most reasonable option.
I've noticed that a lot of mods require a keyboard and mouse for input, so would that mean that ps5 players would need to purchase a keyboard and mouse? I also am wondering if they plan on implementing a mouse cursor to be controlled with either the touchpad or the left joystick like Wreckfest... Just some food for thought.
This may be controversial, but I think mods should be considered more when discussing what should be added. The modding community's large and dedicated, and they can do what the dev team doesn't have the time to. There's already several good Russian and Eastern European maps where a Soviet Bloc car would fit in, and although I would like an official Eastern Europe map, I don't think it's too big of a deal if a new car doesn't fit in any existing vanilla maps. Regarding an Eastern European car being added, I don't really think any of them would be all that good. Just thinking from a perspective of what I'd use in career mode, I can't really see a reason to use any over what's already in the game other than just vibes or maybe cost. Maybe a late 80s car made right near the end of Communism like the Skoda Favorit could fit as a traffic vehicle, but its 30+ years old, I doubt they're that common anymore and the Favorit in particular would also be a bit too similar to the Covet. However, there is one car that I would consider buying, and that would be an amphibious vehicle, like the LuAZ-967. To be honest, I don't think it would have much use in any of the current vanilla maps, but I'm sure there will someday be a map where an amphibious vehicle would actually be very useful. Also, I imagine it would be much easier to drive than the Wydra, so there would be an actual reason to use it.
As far as this goes, I don't think it's too much of a problem. While yes basically any large cold war military vehicle was used to transport missiles, a lot of these at the end of the day are effectively "tractors". Plenty of them were used as tank transporters, bed trucks, recovery vehicles, airport tugs, and even fire fighting. While yeah a 7907 would be a little too on the nose, something like a 535/7 would be fair game IMO, and we really could benefit from a true off highway cargo hauler like a military 5 ton (though the MD and hopefully vocational versions of the new truck does touch that itch a little bit)
Yeah, we already have had one '80s hatchback cut due to being too similar to the Covet (the Charmand 1304 B, which would've been similar to the Peugeot 205 and Renault 5), so a Favorit likely isn't happening. Maybe? I feel like the Wydra was made purely to show off the amphibious tech and tank steering, and there's not much more that a LuAZ would add on the technical side. It also uses paddle wheels, so it wouldn't be like an Amphicar (which uses propellers to go through the water) or a Gibbs Aquada (which uses water jets). Looking at the specs of the 535/7, they're "only" about 9m long. That's likely not that much bigger than the eight-wheeled versions of the T-Series and new Euro semi. Even the 7310's shorter than the Wentward (and not that much wider, at 2.97m). I just had it in my head that they were impractically enormous, but that wouldn't make sense. All of these are powered by V12s, so hey - that's a way to get that engine type in the game. But I think the new Euro semi having 8x8 would make these big trucks irrelevant to the devs.
If developers only make civilian cars in these countries, of course, there is no problem. --- Post updated --- Considering that the game will have multiplayer mode ... I think vehicles like tanks will be banned, because many children may use tanks to destroy other normal players' cars at random.
I'm still holding out hope for, eventually, some kind of competing platforms from the same era and bracket but different brands. We do technically already have rival cars, but those are few and far between, amounting only to the Gr. B Covet vs. Gr. B Bolide (which are at opposite ends of the Group B displacement subclass spectrum), and the SBR4 vs. K-Series (a tenuous comparison in general, but the playing field could be levelled in a GT3 context). Even outside of competition, a "rival" vehicle of the same size, body style, and layout would be present in markets that its competitor may not (a shining example being the FCV, which can be seen to step on the toes of USDM/CADM cars like the Golf GTI/R, TT, Kona, Corolla hatch, and Corolla Cross).
I feel like with the multiplayer a player should have the choice to have collisions enabled or disabled for themselves. last thing we need is every time we load into a game is some 6 year old teleporting on top of us. Also players with collisions off would also mean a better running server? Now i get the frustrations for the people then trying to ram everyone. but I think this would be the most logical route.
Jeez this forum sometimes. I merely suggest that the front end of the new truck has a russian look to it, and somehow it translates to MRLS/ICBM capable launcher systems and current day politics? Like WTH, even if the devs do add a military truck I can guarentee it will be a demiliterized retired truck converted to hauling goods or for offroading(IE: buying old humvee's and deuce and a halves/5 tonners for offroading or parades)). And if they do add a soviet car, high chance we will get an Autobello to go with it(since a number of Ladas are licence built Fiat copies)
if the play station is becoming a part of beams community.... I hope mod makers take that into consideration from now onward
