So thinking about what sort of configs we can see for these... Rigid haul truck: As much as I want to recreate the scene from Mr Nice Guy, a full sized haul truck just wouldn't fit on most maps. A small truck (Think Cat 770, Komatsu HD325... Volvo's smallest is a step up from these) isn't actually that big and would roughly line up with the size of tire props we already have. There are smaller haul trucks out there but I think a 770 equivalent is most likely. We probably could get 2 weight classes... The 40 ton Cat 770 and 50 ton Cat 772 share a fair number of parts for example A dump bed and bare frame are standard offerings for these Water and lube upfits are both common for these trucks I have to admit I thought fifth wheel haul trucks were a stupid idea that Saber made up for Snowrunner but it turns out they actually exist. I'm not sure how much the team would be interested in making a trailer that only this thing could pull, but we're already talking about a very niche vehicle so we may as well add a bit more capability to it I wonder if we could see a centered vs offset cab option. I don't know of any models that offered both in the same generation but having the option in game would be nice. Loader: A Cat 980 equivalent would be most appropriate to pair with a 770 equivalent. That's probably the biggest you could sensibly pair with the T-Series anyway. We could possibly get something as small as a 950 equivalent (I think that's the smallest that could reasonably lift that bus in last week's teaser) but that wouldn't pair well with the haul truck Recent conversations in this thread basically covered any attachments we could get that I can think of. IRL options would include counterweights, cameras, tires, full vs partial fenders, cab guards, and quality of life features --- Post updated --- I know CAT does have choice of mechanical and diesel-electric offerings for a few of their size classes, not in the classes we're likely to see though. Not sure if they share enough parts to feasibly recreate that in game or if any smaller trucks from competitors have a similar "option"
I can't wait to use a vehicle with these huge tires in the Sawmill spawn point of the ECUSA map! Also, I'm really curious to see how it will react in the river route with all this air in it! And I'm really curious to see snow chains and studded tires sometime in BeamNG!
AND the WCUSA quarry, maybe it'll get an expansion too, who knows! There's some other great maps it could be used on too like Johnson valley. You can go anywhere with a vehicle like that since it's so open. River highway is pretty broad too, I reckon you could drive it on the street easily there
