NGL, I feel like this update is going to feel pretty light. I suspect that the Christmas update will be a larger update with more WIP features getting more complete. Just my $.02
Honestly agree, this update seems like random crap they have been meaning to release. Theres no way your convincing me that the limo hasnt been thought of since the release of the Grand Marshal
Imagine if BeamNG releases one of their updates when GTA 6 releases --- Post updated --- I’m not sure if you know this but there was a mod that had a limo version of the Grand Marshall. It was made by AR162B and it was part of like a Grand Marshall expansion mod which released. I think it’s safe to say @AR162B came up with the idea of the Grand Marshall limo version (unless if other BeamNG devs planned it around the time the GM released).
I am sayibg they had to have planned it originally for the Grand Marshal. It is so surprising that there hasnt been an official limo till now, its such a simple addition compared too alot of other additions to the game.
Imagine if they release the update the same day BeamNG also releases an update, how crazy of a coincidence would that be
No, the devs removed that from their depots that you can see on SteamDB - I'm not quite sure why they did that, but 0.34 was the last update that had visible dates for the creator program. It also allows for multiple styles of vehicles to be shared on a common platform, which can then be shared with mods. The D/H/Roamer are great examples of this, with how different their facelifts (and pre-facelift, in the case of the D-Series) look from the original versions of the vehicles. I think that's because of all the work that would've gone into changing the Sunburst's powertrain (and re-designing the car to fit it), along with the wagon body style. The Sunburst is practically a whole new car after its remaster. (I do agree that the Sunburst could still get a mild facelift, just like the third-gen Impreza. Considering how mild most of the facelifts for non-trucks tend to be, I doubt that it'd get anything as extreme as the second-gen Impreza versions.) If they wanted to remaster several old props all at once, I wouldn't be surprised if the update was pushed back to next week. I doubt it would be later, since we haven't had a major update release past the 20th of a month in over four years (0.23, 30 June 2021). If they have something big planned for 0.38 (which, being a December update, is quite likely), I think they'd want to give themselves enough time to work on that. I'm not sure if all the old props could be remastered in just three months, but given how much simpler they are to make than vehicles, I wouldn't be surprised if we got a significant majority of them reworked.
It seems simple on the surface, probably easier to 3D model than other body styles, but I would say in terms of physics it's more difficult than just an alternative body style. Because you are not just editing existing parts but also adding a huge chunk of the body in the middle that doesn't really share the consistent physics properties with the rest of the car (it's heavier, stronger, thicker floor, different glass construction etc)
