2024 Bruckell Moonhawk with a 1.2 turbo I3 producing 98 hp Jokes aside, a name that i (who knows nothing about SXS) see popping out often is Polaris, looking at the RZR lineup they use a 1.0 2-cyl engine both N/A or turbo in various power levels, with the top version using instead a 2.0 4-cyl engine. I can totally see the devs reusing Ibishu engines (or maybe the Wydra engine) but i definitely wouldn't mind seeing a base 2-cyl version
Well, the Moonhawk was a coupé, the Bastion is a sedan, i know brands lately like to reuse older names for new, larger cars that barely resemble the originals, but it doesn't have to be like that in the BeamNG universe
And FWD! Imagine that! Hahahaha! A 2-cylinder is a great layout but it also means a new and special sound has to be made for it. Ibishu, Cherrier and ETK 2.0 I4s are perfect for some fast versions of the ATV but don't discard the legendary Cherrier 2.5 I5! Yep, it's the Mustang I was referring to! The dev who designed the Barstow said it's about the same size as the '71 Mustang, so a modern Barstow with neoretro lines, a base Turbo I4 and a Quad-Cam V8 (plus an Inline-6 in between, just for making the difference and having a modern I6 to be larger than 3 liters) would be ace!
I do not believe the 0-60 time. It either has way more hp or you suck at counting. Anyways, side-by-side, amirite?
Well if we want to speculate what happened to the Moonhawk (For whatever reason this came up...) we should probably look at the real life counterparts... Keep in mind that the Moonhawk really should have more body styles. It isn't necessarily only a coupe. Ford: Ford's entries in this lineup were the Torino and Mercury Montego. After this generation the Torino name was dropped without return, and the Montego name was dropped but returned in 2005-2007 for a melty volume sedan, then dropped without return. While the Torino name died with this generation and the Montego name basically did as well, the platform was actually kept around for a few more years. Ford wanted to streamline their lineup and this platform got another few years of life as the LTD II, Ranchero, and Thunderbird. Of course 2 of those names were dropped after this short additional generation and again never resurrected. Effectively the only nameplates that used this platform and survived after this generation were the 2 personal luxury coupes: The Thunderbird and Mercury Cougar. Both of those cars continued to have a pretty standard run for personal luxury coupes which isn't relevant to discussing the Bruckell. Chrysler: Pretty much all the B-Body cars either had their nameplates pulled after this generation or eventually ended up somehow related to the modern L platform family. Both the Charger and Monaco had some time in the 1980's/1990's respectively as volume FWD cars, but the Charger also ended up on the modern L family and the Monaco name was entirely pulled after that. GM: The fate of the GM counterparts is kind of all over the place, but the important thing for this conversation is that only the Chevy Malibu and Buick Regal survived past 2007. Both of those cars lie on the GM Epsilon platform, which is basically just for generic FF midsized sedans. So overall we have 3 options: The Moonhawk name was pulled after this generation or a short final generation after this The Moonhawk lived on in some form as a midsized car and slowly melted into a generic volume vehicle over the course of the next 30 years. May or may not be around still but if it is it's not doing great market wise. The Moonhawk was resurrected for what we know as the Basion Of course it could actually go any way since the Moonhawk is a fictional car, but if we're trying to speculate what "realistically" would have happened to the name we should look at what actually happened in real life to the equivalent cars. Option 3 is out since the Bastion is named "Bastion" and really doesn't take any cues from the Moonhawk (perhaps the Moonhawk remaster will change this?). So that leaves the Moonhawk as either being discontinued and forgotten about, or morphing into a melty volume car over the next several generations and then being forgotten about anyway. Which seems a bit of a shame...
Well a go kartish Off roader thing and/or race track toy sounds very fun to me more so if there is a road version. as much as i would prefer some remasters. Anyway do you think we will get a teaser today? or not?
Would definitely be cool. I think we will see a remaster today as we didn’t have one the 2 past weeks and there surely is enough content to show something or even only a closer look on the side by side or the trailer
Speaking of the UTV, I wonder if they will give us any crazy engine swaps to go in it, like this: But instead it would be a 3.0L I6 ETK swap to keep it lore-friendly
Maybe something like the Funco F9. It's one hell of a beast - 7.5 Twin Turbo V8 making well over 1200 horsepower. That would be crazy https://funcomotorsports.com/products/f9
I see it being one of two ways: A: The Moonhawk was the boring Personal Luxury Coupe, and the bastion the rebodied "sport" model, like the dodge coronet/charger, or perhaps they were just trim levels of the same car, like a satellite/roadrunner. or B: the classic bastion is not a "retro revival" charger like we suspect, but rather a continuous line of Fullsize cars, more like the Chevrolet Impala, which just happened to regain its RWD layout some time in the 2000s. this would make it an entirely different car from the Moonhawk in the 70s, and also explains why it doesn't lean into retro styling like the real charger, with the battlehawks opting for a lamborghini-envying bodykit. On a tangent, the names "Battlehawk" and "Redtail" also make me wonder about planned Moonhawk trims, "Battlehawk" seems like the perfect level of corny for a Volare Super-Coupe or Mustang King Cobra-esque appearance package.
