The 200hp 3-cylinder turbo would also be nice for a lightweight sportscar but, judging by what UTVs are made for, I bet its operational characteristics are gonna be somewhat rough. Unless it's based on an engine we already have, for example the Cherrier 1.2 I3 (it's about time it regains the sturdy "Heavy-Duty Block" it got devoid of sometime in the hotfixes of the 0.19 Update, in Spring 2020). --- Post updated --- Tbh, I'd like FPU to have this car because it looks like a tool for a very specific job, just like the Wydra. And FPU seem to be experts in such vehicles. Plus, the Wydra is the only model we have right now, so the new UTV would help FPU broaden its brand appeal. Your point about the engines is legit, Ibishu makes generally good engines, so FPU outsourcing them for the UTV would make sense. But again, we don't know whether the Wydra's 800cc I3 is outsourced or not. It could be an overstroked (and turbocharged and sideways-mounted) 550cc Pigeon I3, it could be not. But once again, that engine was already 28 years old once the Wydra came out, in 2008.
"The 8x8 Wydra prototype was first constructed by a passionate team of imaginative engineers, and was eventually converted into a rugged 4x4 configuration optimized for traversing challenging, waterlogged environments. While the vehicle was a huge hit when it was first introduced to the market, several injuries ensued when people rolled over the car owing to its high center of gravity, — nearly bankrupting the creators in the process." Doesn't seem like FPU would have the capital for developing a completely new vehicle.
Hmmm, that's quite a plausible reason why FPU can't make the UTV. SP (Sandstorm Performance) could also be a candidate since it also makes off-road tools of cars, but the UTV is too small, so it can't exactly fit in with the SP's lineup of big, brawny off-road racers with V8 engines. Don't know about Ibishu (as Minivanlover11 said) but, based on the recent points, a third company making the UTV is the most certain thing.
I probably won't ever drive the new teased vehicle, much the same as I never drive the Wydra or the new offroad stuff, but variety is good and it'll be there for if anything more offroad-esque gets fleshed out in the future. Still, I think my hopes and the hopes of the wider community for the most part are still planted on circuit racing content and the systems that would accompany an update themed around it (wear, thermals, etc.).
I use Johnson Valley for the high speed roads and for rally, not really crawling or dakar sort of stuff. Maps like Italy run pretty bad for me (which is odd, because my hardware is fine) so I tend to steer clear of it
Yep, why not? --- Post updated --- I want more classic 70s cars too, with the ill-fated 1971 Burnside Bacchus personal luxury Coupe (conceived sometime in 2014 and missing ever since) being my darkest desire.
I feel that the selection of pre-1980 classics should be filled out before moving to things like the theorised heavy machinery. Especially smaller classics, such as the infamously unreliable British roadster category.
There are so many pre-1980 archetypes that would fit into the game so well (spoilered since it's only loosely related to speculation) Spoiler: List Archetype (potential inspirations) Early race car (Fiat Beast of Turin, Peugeot L45) Early sports car (Stutz Bearcat, Mercer Raceabout) 20s-30s simple "people's car" (Ford Model T, Austin 7) 30's Grand Prix racer (Bugatti Type 35, Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza) Full-size 1930s car (Packard 12, Cadillac V16, Deusenberg J/SJ) 1930s experimental French car (Citroen Traction Avant, Avions-Voisin C25) Postwar American truck (Ford F1, Chevrolet 3100/Suburban) 1950s sports car (C1 Corvette, Mercedes-Benz 300SL, Kaiser Darrin, there's a lot of ways it could go) Late 1950s American ('59 Cadillac, Plymouth Fury, Chrysler 300 letter series) 1950s larger European (Peugeot 403, Mercedes-Benz 200, Jaguar Mk II) Non-big-3 based American midcentury car (Tucker 48, Kaiser Henry J, Nash Ambassador, Rambler Rebel) Early 1960s smaller American car (Dodge Dart, Ford Falcon) Classic European grand tourer (Ferrari 250 GT, Maserati Ghibli, Aston Martin DB4) Pre-1970s large/semi trucks, American and/or European '60s endurance racer (Ford GT40, Porsche 917, Ferrari 330 P4) '60s-'70s small roadster (Honda S800, MGB, Nissan Fairlady (pre-Z), Triumph TR6) '60s-'90s Eastern Block car (Lada, Trabant) Late '70s American Luxury fullsize (Lincoln continental, Cadillac Eldorado) And there's probably a whole lot more than that too. I'd be over the moon if any of them ever made it in, much less all of them, which is unrealistic of course.
Alright so I'm not sure if the "Concept Beamng Cars" are cars that might be added later on. If I'm right the Hopper was on that list for a little and uh. Well here we are now in 0.29. Some cars that have very little or no info about at all I'd just say what they should be based off of, imo. Bruckell Chivala: 2008-2014/2015-2023 Dodge Challenger Bruckell Scarborough: 1956-1958 Plymouth Fury Bruckell Tiare: 2013-2023 Dodge Durango Gavril Blackstone: 1965-1970 Chevrolet Biscayne Gavril Bussard: 1960-1963/1964-1965 Ford Falcon Soliad Palisade: 1995-1999/2000-2002/2003-2005 Pontiac Sunfire (or Chevrolet Cavalier but that would be a gavril then) those are my ideas, some make sense and some are just cars I want. (I would like the fury and the sunfire)
