The exact reason why I don't think the Moonhawk is getting any remaster anytime soon. It has been receiving all these random parts lately like the engines and the hood, thus giving it a longer lifespan for what is essentially a 10 year old model.
I see it more like "why spend any effort on a vehicle that is way outdated and all this work will have to be redone from scratch in the unspecified futute"
I'm subscribed to the idea that the Moonhawk will get a "ship of Theseus" style remaster where it's incrementally reworked. First the interiors, then the rear fascia, now the engine and hood, and so forth. One day we'll have a Moonhawk that's essentially been remastered without any of us knowing it.
I'm gonna be the one to say it, the update was mid. I mean, not much has changed other than doors, and two car remasters. BeamNG devs usually sneak in a few extras to be fun, but this time around, we got everything that was confirmed. Also, the devs usually do more for the game's update, which we did not get. (Not the stuff that usually extra) --- Post updated --- The update hasn’t even been released for more than 12 hours and y’all already are hyped for the .29 update… --- Post updated --- Also another problem about all these cars needing to be remastered is that they will have a higher priority than adding official cars to to game.
OK, probably Slowpoke.JPG, but did anyone see those two cars in the Automation Test Track video? The blobby minivan and the Isuzu-looking midsize off-roader? Those look way too nice to be Automation mods. Did the devs decide to start the speculation early? Am I just OOTL on someone's paid/non-repo mods? Does Automation do interiors now?
They did list the credits for the creators of those vehicles, so they can’t be hinting anything. And yes, those actually are automation mods. It is actually surprising how realistic some of them are.
Those cars are probably Automation mods. Besides If minivan comes, It will be probably designed on Chrysler Minivan ("This minivan is sold in USA and EU")
I thought this was sarcasm for a sec... --- Post updated --- @ManfredE3 you should add this to the 0.29 list as the first item
well seeing as that we now have confirmation that there is a light version for remastering a vehicles in the from of refreshing them, what cars do you feel need refreshed instead of a full remaster?
Cars that don't have to be redone from scratch to work well. My personal lists: Needs remaster: Moonhawk, Burnside, T-Series, Miramar, DT40L Needs refresh: Piccolina, I-Series, Barstow, Bluebuck, Grand Marshal, SBR4, Sunburst, 200BX, Hopper, old Pessima Doesnt need either: Stambecco, Bastion, LeGran, FCV, Bolide, Scintilla, K-Series, 800-Series, Wydra, D-Series, H-Series, Roamer, Covet, new Pessima, Pigeon, Wigeon, Wendover, Dunekicker, Rockbasher Keep in mind that the scopes of each refresh vary a lot, for example the Piccolina or Bluebuck don't need much while the 200BX or Sunburst need significant amount of new content and visual improvement. Maybe these 2 could even get a full remaster, idk, but the Jbeam of them seems fine.
I feel like at least the moonhawk and sunburst don’t need more than refreshing as the sunburst only lacks good visual quality inside the car and the moonhawk, I don’t really know what it is lacking, it has a good interior, decent customisation but many people want it to be remastered. I don’t play it much tho so i might forget something. Same btw for the Burnside and Bluebuck imo --- Post updated --- I very much agree with that list
the moonhawks model and jbeam are incredibility outdated i feel it needs a remaster, and with the DT40L i feel it only needs a refresh as its quite new
It shares parts with the T-Series so it would only make sense to remaster them together, + it could use a shorter and articulated body which would be too much work for a refresh. While the new content it got is good, it was obviously rushed with assets recycled from the Bluebuck, the inner fenders also still lack detail and some textures are flat black color, it all seems temporary to me. + there is not enough diversity between the facelift and pre-facelift, configs are rushed (now even more than before), and it could use another body style. And obviously the Jbeam needs to be redone, it doesn't even fit the shape in all places, it didn't get interior collision either. Meanwhile the Burnside... Don't even get me started at how many changes it needs to feel up to date, let's just say the textures didn't survive the PBR conversion very well, there is mesh clipping on several configs and the Jbeam could use improvement.
