But the hopper is the worst. --- Post updated --- The I-series interior is pretty outdated too. But it’s kinda cool nostalgic
speaking of etk, have we had any update on the k series, or is it still expected to get something mid January like leeloo said?
Not just the older vehicles, the Bastion is so dark inside that I can't read the gauges in broad daylight
I have to agree with this. This is very apparent for some of the brighter colours. One of the most obvious examples I can find is the Barstow Kingsnake. This is its thumbnail, note how saturated that yellow looks. This is what it looks like when I spawn it. Look at how washed-out that looks compared to the thumbnail.
Well, since the Barstow is an old car, I don’t consider it unrealistic for the paint to be faded, however, it should not be like that on all configs and I agree that the paint system should be updated. May be if there was only like a beater or poorly maintained config that the paint would be faded like that. Same goes for other vehicles.
The showroom map has some trickery going on in form of a reflection cubemap, which is why the thumbnails are taking without dynamic reflections. The paints looking more reflective and saturated than they actually are isn't surprising with that knowledge.
I find that a lot of the paint colors have gotten way too vibrant. It makes the game look unrealistic and cartoonish. Flame orange is a perfect example. Compare how the flame orange Covet in the Steam greenlight trailer looks to an orange Covet now. The same goes for colors like sea blue, forest green, red, and the Sunburst's lime green.
It's probably because the bottom of the lights comes up, while most cars have the top line come down (i hope you understand what i mean), personally i feel it looks unusual but not really bad. Speaking of the Bastion, what bugs me more is the taillights, they don't make a smooth curve, that wouldn't look too bad on its own but in the context of BeamNG they look low-poly and rushed, like they're off of a lower quality mod (i don't want to offend or discredit the people who worked on the car, it's just my opinion, feel free to disagree)
Having it more round would make it look a lot less American to me. The squareness resembles most current American cars' overall designs.
