Personally I’m guessing the update is in two parts. The first introduce some ‘small’ content, like the off-road truck or picobuggy, update to the game engine/render, etc. Stuff that’s like the basis for the second part of the update (like last year, how they reworked the pbr stuff in the first part of the December update and in the seconde they introduced pbr to a lot of other map. So maybe if they rework how water interact with cars for the otter, it would be in the first part and in the second the otter is introduced. Also, it wouldn’t surprise me if that first part is on the 1 of December with all those teasers Thursday.
Personally I think the otter emoji might have been a substitute for the beaver emoji, and this is an actual official version of the Labrador Beaver mod; I don't think the similarity in the assumed naming is a coincidance
I think you might be on to something here, as the mystery buggy appears to be rear engined, it would make sense considering the class 5 buggy has a piccolina "baja bug" adaptation, that the class 1 would have a frankenstein'd "baja-SBR" body.
I don't believe one bit that it's rear-engined. I believe it had no engine at all in that Teaser Thursday, just so the Devs "cause chaos", as Leeloo said. The scoop may be there for better airflow to the radiator, mounted below the two spares. After all, just like the fuel cell, it has to be mounted more towards the center of the vehicle for reducing its vulnerability. Plus, that was exactly the same mounting point in the LKS Prerunner too.
I hope we get a teaser tomorrow and it´s something else than offroad content for those of us who aren´t really into that stuff so we can be super-hyped about it.
It's an off-road themed update. I doubt that the next teaser won't be for the map or off-road vehicles, unless it's for the K series. The K series remaster seems to have been put on the back burner considering that after the one body kit teaser there's just been radio silence.
Even if we do only get off-road stuff, I'm positive that it's possible to make road-going versions. All it takes is a bit of tuning and about an hour. I wouldn't worry too much.
I'm sure at minimum the full Piccobuggy will get a tarmac track weapon version. That would be a cool big brother to the Mantis.
Even the baja truck could be made onto a track monster. If neither gets a tarmac version, they shouldn't be hard to make. The Piccobuggy would make a pretty good ariel atom type track car, especially if it gets a V8. If it doesn't get a V8, I'm sure many people (including me) will be greatly disappointed.
The existing Flat-4s have the Blow-Through Turbo option and it's just fine for such a light car. --- Post updated --- That's really interesting actually!
Dang it ! How did i not see that ? Thanks , i'll rectefy this --- Post updated --- Dang it ! How did i not see that ? Thanks , i'll rectefy this --- Post updated --- That's the equivelent of the baja
But they aren't V8s. The sound is important, and I find V6s and I4s not as well sounding. No worries here though, if it isn't released w a V8, someone will make a mod for it eventually.
We Can't have V8 just because it has good sound . Prerunner are stable because of their weight (proportion) And you want a V8 , on a lighter offroad vehicle that's REAR ENGINED ?
