The problem i see here is even if there IS a new road vehicle shipped with it: Whats the point of another trophy/prerunner truck?
Gotta say... I did not expect to see this reaction here to the truck... Like, yeah we are getting this instead of something else... You could say that about literally anything the devs would make. This combined with that class 5 Picco will be one hell of a pairing; and IMO it's great to see them focusing on content related to specific motorsports and that sets a new precedent. Y'all are acting like the team is giving up on all other content for this. When has that ever been the case? I admit the content has been getting off-road heavy and we don't really have an ideal map for it (interested to see if that new map TDev teased will change this); but I'm glad to see the team is having some fun with adding stuff we've officially never seen anything like before (I'm not counting a caged frame 1980's truck to be too similar to a modern ground up trophy/stadium truck) --- Post updated --- By that logic what's the point of another modern car? If we want to only add the most unique things then let's stop all road content completely and just add a LeMan prototype, a D11, a half track, and call the vehicle content finished completely.
Again im one of the few people who want normal road cars or atleast remaster the ones ingame first so it add up to the variety. There are enough motorsport games and i dont play BeamNG exclusive for that. I like cruising around in an realistic vehicle sandbox and Beam is the only and best game to fill that niche. I dont say i hate the Motorsport stuff but i find it lacks more and more lately which i find is not a good move in a simulation sandbox which should provide a fair amount of every aspect. Lets just sit and wait how this comes out maybe there is a road vehicle coming along with it after all we will see.
wait a second what if it's a super interchangable tube chassis, i know other people have this idea but what if stock car bodies could be put on there with some extra caging and different suspension
They are very different. This is a ground up modern tube-chassis, fiberglass-body (kinda has to be), trophytruck. The D-series Prerunner is a production vehicle body and drivetrain on a tubechassis. --- Post updated --- This is a baseless assumption
so from what i'm understanding, this truck that we've seen in the teasers may be a purpose built race chassis? if this is infact true, i find it strange. The prerunner is pretty good as it is. for me, i dont really see the need for a purpose built trophy truck. Unless this is a new truck. the front fascia looks different than what the D-series has. If this is a race chassis, I really hope its customizable. like if it's module enough to be turned into a track vehicle along with a trophy truck
I speculate that the pickup will almost certainly be a Bruckell-branded truck, with all three engines from the Bastion. I also figure it won't be brand new, but more mid-2010s era so that the engines made sense over turbo V6 options. It's also almost guaranteed that we'll see a nice big modern diesel.
Anyone else getting some Bastion vibes from the rear end? Could it be a Bruckell race/prerunner truck that takes inspiration from the Bastion? Something like the Ram TRX. Got the vibes from this reddit post: https://old.reddit.com/r/BeamNG/com...up_the_truck_a_bit/?ref=share&ref_source=link
