So yesterday the Hirochi Mistral dropped with an animated shifter. Today now they are officially a vanilla feature. Thats just some great timing from the devs
The remastered Covet interior looks very good and the gauge cluster finally gets an 8k rpm tach! The moving shifter boot is the most important thing in the shifter update I think, it makes the whole shifter movement look even more realistic!
now all the modders (possibly including me) are gonna have to implement movable shifters, let's hope it's easy to implement and isn't some complex system of hydros put into every vehicle.
These are my favourite kind of teasers, you can see sth of the upcoming remaster or vehicle and a new, sick little implementation like the shifting. Same for the last teaser with the Box or the Scintilla teaser with the doors
Devs stealing more mod content, in a remaster that's already stolen from various mods in concept. When do we say enough is enough and do something to protect the modding community /s, looks amazing and I'm glad to see the devs exchanging ideas with the community like this
I realised sth in the new teaser. The mileage of the covet says 0 if I’m not wrong. Don’t all of the vehicles in the game currently have some random number as mileage? This might be a hint for career mode or I’m just starting to overthink because I’m hyped. I can’t check my hypothesis with the mileage rn as I cannot check in the game at the moment
iirc most cars have some high mileage on them. possibly cars getting working odometers? even if it isn't tied to career mode yet it'd still be cool to see which car youve driven the most
if it is, just do what i do for crap private mods. Copy the entire jbeam file and replace the gear ratios lmao
also dont forget we're getting a dual stage startup system coming in this update (with accessories and engine being separate) so i wouldnt be surprised if theyve gone more in depth with stuff like the odometers
I hope that cold starts will be more realistic too. Currently, It can be 50F or -50F and the engines will start in almost the same time with very little power loss until you get into very extreme temperature drops (-100F, -150F etc)
There are also the manual column shifter cars (Burnside Special, Gavril Bluebuck and Bruckell Moonhawk) that have to get movable manual column shifters plus the automatic cars in which the shifter is held still (Cherrier FCVs, Bruckell Bastion and the Gavril T-Series when equipped with the automatic transmission - in the FCVs, the lamps illuminating the P, R, N, D and M gear positions have to be simulated too). Plus, there's also the T-Series with the twin-stick manual transmission.
