A diesel i3 in a luxury sports car?
    --- Post updated ---
I feel like the k series has barely been updated since it's release

I believe he was talking about a different vehicle hence his comment about expanding the ETK lineup.

The Turbocharged 1.5 gas and diesel I3s don't make sense in a luxury sports car like the K-Series but they do make sense in a family car like the 800-Series (for making the latter more affordable to the masses who want to upgrade to a luxury car but don't want to pay much in the way of taxes because, let's be honest, there are countries that charge extra taxes above 2 liters of displacement), hence why I mentioned the modern ETKs in general. The I3s can be kept in the parts selector of the K-Series though, for anyone who wants them.

    I personally don’t think the 1.5s fit a ETK 800, I’ve never seen a BMW 3-Series with an inline 3.

While I can't comment on how common they actually are, Audi and BMW both offer 1.5 i3's in the contemporary A3/3-Series respectively and Mercedes has a 1.5 i4 in the contemporary C-class

ETK K series is not a luxury car... It's more a performance car. There is almost nothing luxurious in ETK K.

The F30 3-Series (2012 - 2018) got the B38 1.5 Turbo I3 in its 2015 facelift - in the 318i version, with 136hp. The current production years of the 800-Series (2013 - 2017, unless the lifespan gets slightly expanded with the remastering) are bang-on for the car to be equipped with such an engine. It was presented in the era of radical downsizing, after all.

The closest IRL cars are the Z4 and SL, both of which are considered luxury cars

Okay, so this is my speculation about the K-Series :

First, I really do hope that the remaster will include one for the 800-series., that's why I'll include it in this post.

    I/ Engines

In my opinion, there's a big lack of a modern V8 with like 400hp in a smooth version and 550/600hp for more sport in those cars, just something to compete with the BMW M5 F10, Audi RS6 C7 and the Mercedes W212 E63 AMG, if I take the 800-series as an example

    II/ Bodies

This is actually why I love german cars manufacturers : they offer a plenty of car bodies variety ! For the K-series, we could have a convertible, and some kind of "GranCoupé" variant... For the 800-series, I really think they should add a sedan variant, but also a coupé and a convertible ! I know there isn't any convertible in game yet, but I guess making a roof system is doable, althought they could choose simplicity by making the roof only in the down position.

    III/Configurations

For the K-series,I don't thing we miss anything, apart maybe just a street tuned version... But there's plenty to do with the 800-series ! My guesses are a Polizia and a German Taxi variant, as well as a Safety/Medical car based on a V8 configuration

    IV/Facelifts

Last thing I wanted to show would be the facelifts. For the K-series, I would imagine a 2012/13-2015 prefacelift with some details inspired by the current version of the 800-series(with those ugly round fog lights for example), and vice-versa, a 2015/16-2018 facelift inspired by the current version of the K-series, with a more agressive front bumper, and improved taillights for example.

That's it for me, I'm pretty tired so I'm going to bed, and sorry if I assimiled that there will be a 800 remaster too, but taht seems kinda z good opportunity to me. I just hope that we won't have something like the mk2 Pessima remaster, with a car full of potential and no engines nor bodies added to it

The car is a pure Coupe, so I don't see how it can be redesigned to have 4 doors and 4 seats without ruining the original design of the K-Series (which does need some improvements but that's another matter). This happened only once before, with the AMG GT which got a 4-door variant, and the results were hideous (in my opinion).
A 2-seater Convertible would make 100% sense for making another body style based on this car.

As for the 800-Series, apart from expanding the variety of the engines and the engine versions, I also think the Devs could integrate the cornering lights mod of Classic Mike into the headlights, because it really improves the visibility and it also completes the lighting system of the headlights.

Well, no. If we want compare ETK K to RL then it's closer only to Z4 which isn't a luxurious car. It's just a beefy sport coupe/cabrio. Heck, if we want compare it to RL cars then K series is also similar to Audi. Just like Car8john said - the only luxurious thing in K series is price tag. Just look at interior. In 2015-2018 this interior looks dated to be luxurious not to mention that base models are VERY cheap in comparison to performance models.

The Z4 is considered a luxury car by both BMW and most reviewers
