I hope so ( as always ) I think seeing we did not get one last week. I think we have a chance. BUT in saying that sometimes we go longer then 2 weeks. As they dont want to define the Teasers. SO I think we have a 50/50 For this Tuesday. And a 70/30 for next week ( IF no teaser this week )
you also have to remember that most road car laps aren't the full circuit and are Bridge to Gantry lap times which cuts roughly a mile long straightaway out
Don't you think that 14 seconds it's just too much between a race car and a street car? I mean you got a point on the recreation but usually cars in videogames are faster than real life because the racing conditions are perfect to make a hotlap, and the nurburgring mod it's a port from Asseto which it's laser scanned. In my mind the aero it's the main factor why the sbr it's slower, it has slicks, more horsepower and a similar weight, the aero has to be the reason
14 seconds is a big difference but I don't think it's too much. If you're talking about the SBR Hillclimb, the crazy aero bits, the slick tires, the chassis stiffness and the race car suspension setup help it in cornering. The Hillclimb variant may be equally as fast (or just a teeny bit faster) as/than the SBR4 S2 on the straights, but it's significantly quicker on the corners because of these four factors. So I'd definitely say that the SBR4 Hillclimb is about 14 seconds faster than the SBR4 S2 on the WCUSA Racetrack. After all, the Vivace Race, a car with FWD and the same horsepower as the Vivace S 350Q (with the lovely 5-cylinder and the loud gearshifts that, unfortunately, won't return), is about 12.4 seconds faster on that track because of its aero dress, the slick tires, the better chassis stiffness and the race car setup.
Don't forget 14 seconds is a lot on the Nürburgring. And driver skill is also a factor. At least for me the beamng physics are not at the point where I can fully commit when racing.
I come from sim racing background (ac, acc) and I find the behavior of road cars in some aspects more convincing than in ac. Namely curb handling, braking (abs intervention, lateral movement on aggressive camber), ability to rotate off throttle, dealing with jumps (which there are a couple on nordschleife). I mean no comparable car in ac gave me similar feeling to road going vivace s, which btw is a gem in my opinion. Mind you there weren’t many comparable cars…
I did a time trial test with the SBR at Spa. I wanted to see how it faired against GT3 cars. The SBR I used is custom made, made to be a really fast track car. It has 950 horsepower (1050 with nitrous) and is RWD. Even with double the horsepower, the SBR, if I remember the times correctly, was about 9 seconds slower than the fastest GT3 time at Spa in 2021. Big reason could be that the Nomi GTRX aero kit has a ton of drag, but even then the SBR visibly doesn't turn as quickly as GT3 cars, which I attribute to there being no underbody aero physics
Only? The GT2 RS is the fastest street legal car at the Nordschleife, just because the SBR has more power doesn't mean it can make the best of it
Is it fair to believe that once 0.25 has been released, which seems to be a big one, that 0.26 will be released in 3 months which also seems to be a big one? Tdev said they are trying to go back to 3 months but that 0.25 has taken some time. Id say that 0.26 might be delayed too but that theyre aiming to release it 3 months after 0.25. Nonetheless two big ones we can all look forward to!
I think tdev said that I’d be a completely new map, didn’t he? --- Post updated --- Oh yeah, for me the etk k trackday is the best handling car in the game, great cornering, very well balanced, more oversteer than understeer tho and no hard lift- off oversteer
Would be a fairly simple implementation I would assume, and would add a bit more environmental depth to the game. On the subject of water, anybody else remember how water would drip off of cars in Rigs of Rods after they'd been in it? That'd be a nice touch to have in Beam.
I Think they are almost done with 0.25 already for release, but most of the stufff they were working on got delayed so they pushed that stuff to 0.26 so that they get the extra 3 months for final development. and the 0.25 with the Covet Remaster might be a relatively small update (the new civetta isn't even confirmed for this update, I Think the 0.26 premise for tire thermals would be an excellent add on for that car and I wouldn't be mad if we only get it in 0.26)
i love the physics in beamng, they are the reason I invested 2000 $ into my sim racing setup and I dont even play other sims. Still I feel like that especially the fast cars are alot harder to drive than in other sims. I have no real track experience (well except for karting...), the only fast car i have ever driven is a KTM X-Bow on the street but imo cars are a bit more forgiving irl.
It's a bit hard to compare lap times of racing sim with the real life as there is a factor of fear or 'self-preservation'. You won't cut corners in real life on Nürburgring as in BeamNG. For example it is nice to try in AC to get Alonso's r25 and try to match his 2005 quali time at Spa. After few tries you will get very close to his lap time.
