I can agree with you. Other names like "Lampo" (synonym of Fulmine) or "Tempesta" (which translates to Thunderstorm) also would fit well. For now, only time will tell.
Alright. In my opinion, this new supercar will have "basic" and top trim models, as all the vanilla cars here in BeamNG. I'm not expecting plastic bumpers, that would be ridicolous, but a NA V8 is a good start. Going up with the trims, a V10, V12 and probably some sort of Hybrid V12 or W16 as top tier, with insane power. I'm also expecting a Koenigsegg Regera engine and transmission for astronomic amount of power (and fun) and a mix of Bugatti and Koenigsegg interior trims. But a supercar truly is a very complicated car to design due to aerodynamics and other things. For now, only time will tell.
a LFA style V10...that would be absolutely glorious. maybe a turbocharged version to bump up the power in the middle trims, then a hybridized version of that in the top trims
The Vivace S 410Q Arsenic and the Bruckell Bastion Battlehawk Redtail aren't that far off either. Both can hit 0-100km/h in about 3.5 seconds and the Redtail hits ~350km/h. Also, tune and remove the speed limiter of the Vivace S 410Q Arsenic and add AWD to the Battlehawk Redtail and they're even quicker off the line, while the Vivace S 410Q Arsenic can hit speeds of over 330km/h (that is if the Ultra High Performance Radiator doesn't get toast). Also yeah, the basic 5-cylinder sound is there but V10 engines have some special sound details to tell them apart from Inline-5s!
someone already beat me to it but there's a tograc beginner rally version that fits the "lower classes for beginners" category there. the Hirochi SBR4 already has the active rear wing but I think it's ok to have another vehicle with an active rear wing. maybe it could get active spoilers/flaps like the Pagani Huayra instead of the active rear wing.
Everyone speculating a release of this new car so far in the future or even next year... There's also the possibility that this is indeed 'early concept art' but maybe it's concept art from a year ago or mid last year. At least that's how I would release this art to hype up the community: for something that's coming relatively soon. I can imagine it releasing within one of the next two updates. Or maybe a bit shifted like they did with the Bastion.
I agree with him. Making a hybrid in BeamNG sounds like a nightmare. There are a few mods by Arcanox that add hybrids to certain vehicles, but it is not to the point of him even being comfortable about taking it out of beta. It is also a little broken at the moment. Imagining the JBeam and the LUA and all of the other bits and pieces will probably give me night terrors.
I downloaded the mod and it was nightmare to make it work properly. Like the front wheels explodes when you spin it too fast.
I don't think they'll make a different engine for every trim, after all it's a supercar, not a Pessima... most i can see happening is a race version using a different engine, and an electric version
Active flaps are actually very complicated to set right, so I believe a whole-width active rear spoiler is the best solution. It's a very interesting concept though, so we must not exclude it from further BeamNG Updates down the line!
if anything it would be more like different tuning on the same engine block; twin turbo vs n/a, higher profile cams, freer flowing valves, intake, and exhaust, and of course ECU tuning. If its anything like Lamborghini, id expect different materials per edition of the car, carbon vs aluminum doors, hood, fenders, cowl, and other lightweight components, as well as structural bracing and drivetrain differences. (rwd vs awd, and perhaps different awd systems and differentials per edition.)
Active aero flaps could be possible as well, like the Lamborghini ALA system, which uses two flaps on the nose of the car that are open under acceleration to reduce drag, and then closes them under braking to send the air that would be routed under the car and through the diffuser onto up and over the car through two vents in the hood in order to increase downforce. It shouldn't theoretically be that hard, since it would just apply the same designs and ideas used to make the SBR4s active aero function, but applied to the front instead.
I also noticed that the two most recent new cars (Bastion and this new supercar) are the same types of cars that I, and many other players fondly remembered from Rigs of Rods: the Gavril MV4 and MZ2, those being full-size luxury/performance sedans and supercars respectively. I think the new supercar will get a V10/V12 option depending on trim level, similar to the MZ2/MZ2R respectively. Then again, supercars tend to stick to one engine per model. We'll see eventually.
