Hell yeah can't wait to to see a million mods swapping the rotary in literally every other BeamNG car
I'm not expecting a rotary only because of the ssituation with sounds. If they are having so much trouble getting better V8 sounds then I can only imagine the trouble it would be to get a rotary set up
I don't expect the Moonhawk to be powered by a rotary simply because it's not the most appropriate type of vehicle for such an engine. The Moonhawk is a 3700lbs lazy and spongy piece of Americana. A rotary is just too small to even move this car in decency. I expect this engine to be part of a small and light sports car much more than a car like the Moonhawk. But one of the things I do expect the Moonhawk to have is a T-Top body and (why not) a convertible one. Also, it's already proven that the Bastion engines suit it well, despite the fact that some adjustments need to be done in order for them to fit in the engine bay without clipping and without having to get rid of the exhaust (not a problem with me this one since I love the unmuffled BeamNG V8 sound, it's just a typical fitment notice).
If we were to get a rotary, I think they’d do something like a first gen rx7 or an rx8 since those fill niches not yet in the game (80s and mid 2000s sports cars) and are under appreciated cars.
That's a radial engine, commonly called a rotary in aircrafts. This is a Wankel, called a rotary in cars.
Yep, it would be so, so great!!! --- Post updated --- Nobody outside Australia knows about it. I didn't until you mentioned it, so what does that tell you? And even in Australia, everyone back then was focusing too much on the Turbo Commodore to be drawing attention to it.
If the devs ever did decide to create a rotary engined new car, they'd have to implement apex seal failure as well
That's why I said "nobody outside Australia". We have Mazdas in Greece too but this particular model is totally outside of what we know the brand to be! This is a weird large American-Australian-Japanese bastard child with a rotary! --- Post updated --- Yep!! And they also have to implement wider and tuned apex seals with bridgeporting!!
I feel like BeamNG could really do with a radio system. Spotify and YouTube support would be nice, but I imagine that would require jumping through a million legal hoops.
well the CCF2 has a radio system, and so does the vertex it is possible and you can add custom songs on those radios, so i assume it would be possible to code in a radio station for all of the cars
Exactly, why bother integrating Spotify in the game when you can just play music from Spotify directly? I understand your point @ktheminecraftfan, but it feels like the expandable RAM option on my phone, yes it sounds like a cool thing to have but it's useless for the vast majority of users (heck it has 6 GB already)
I believe it would only make sense if it had Gabester's soundtracks from his own SoundCloud page and, also, Mark TDK Knight's soundtracks heard in Glow City, on Light Runner mode. If anything, it would be a good marketing exercise targeting the curious amongst us who listen to these songs in official BeamNG videos and in the Light Runner mode and look for them. BeamNG need not integrate Spotify because it's already got its own music lore too!
