I wonder if there's going to be a Bolide time machine in the revamp

 

I believe that a flatplane V8 doesn't fit the Bastion because it's meant to be more like a traditional muscle car made in the current days (with a pushrod V8, lots of low-end torque and that sweet exhaust note that every enthusiast loves), not a modern supercar. But I am not gonna lie, it would be sweet if the devs decided to make a DOHC flatplane V8 version of the Bastion, like Ford did with the S550 GT350, hahahaha.

 

So far we've seen an unknown spec, a police car, and a widebody not-Hellcat with a roll cage. At least 2 of those are going to be rather brutish muscle cars, not a refined sports car where one would expect a high reving low torque engine.

Personally I'm hoping we get a GT350/GT500 relationship where we get a sensible track focused top spec as well as a straight line high-hp top spec, that would leave room for a flatplane. Otherwise we'll have to wait for another modern American performance car for an affordable modern flat plane car in game, which could be years away unless the Bastion has/gets a sister. But in the two configs we know about a flatplane wouldn't make sense.

 

Yeah i thought more of a special edition engine not a Flatplane as the whole powerplant option

 

There are 3 (ish) kinds of V8s defined by their crankshaft layout and firing order-

The main two are crossplane and flatplane. I am not exactly sure what specific firing order they generally use, but normal crossplanes growl and sound like your typical American V8. Normal flatplanes have a different firing order and sound smooth/raspy and generaly rev higher, like a Ferrari or Maserati V8. The third type is a flatplane that has another different firing order and sounds like a crossplane but with flair. That's what we are talking about.

Ffs everyone is jumping on the bolide hype train, for all we know it's still shelved and they're just trolling us with what they've already had done since 2019

 

I wonder if they would go for V6 like the Charger and Commodore or they would go full Barra with it.

 

I'd imagine they'd go for a V6, both since the ETKs already have inline-6s, and since the legran/wendover are known to use a GM-style V6, the [LORE] would suggest they would stick with such an engine in more recent cars.

 

I just hope it doesn't use that fartcan sound the current V6s have, it wouldn't fit the car at all

 

True. The Pessima V6 sound is so gross

 

I think it's not really possible because, after the Moonhawk, with its 4.0l/244ci Inline-6, Bruckell switched to V6s. But we never know.
I believe Gavril is more possible to make a modern version of its 4.1 Inline-6, turbocharged and all, because it's the only American brand which managed to keep the Inline-6 until recently (2017, in the last model year of the H-Series)! Imagine a modern Gavril Muscle Car with modern versions of the 4.1 Inline-6 (ideally turbocharged), the 5.5 SOHC V8 and the 6.9/423ci OHV V8!

 

They could use an inline6 instead of a v6 like the older cars do

so, from what ive seen, the Bastion is the 3rd Bruckell car, and since thats the lore friendly charger, they'll go with a 3.6 V6 similar to the Charger SE, i cant wait for all the skins and mods for the Bastion tbh especially the decals. Tho im looking forward for a lore friendly Charger Hellcat, probs a Bastion Guardian
