And also the new sound system TDK was talking about
There's also VR support, which, given how much better the game runs now than it did a year ago, we're definitely a lot closer to it being possible again.
The team itself is also much larger and more specialized now than it ever was, part of why we're getting so much varied content and backend improvements. Dropping the "Early Access" tag from the trailers might be just as much a sign of how much more fluidly everyone works, as much as it means they're getting close to wrapping up, as much as it could just be for posterity when the game does come out.
In any case, I don't think the end of Early Access is going to be the end of Beam's development anyways, there's plenty of projects and games that are fairly popular these days which even after a super long dev cycle, still get major work done to them (Rimworld springs to mind as an example)
This is shaping up to be one of the biggest updates ever, regardless of what happens, it's exciting to see.
What is this about a new sound system?
Probably the same as the current one in the game, just with side doors. (also I'll admit I'm gonna be pissed if they don't add a passenger version with this remaster)
Woah, H-Series with bucket seats
Not to overhype, but 0.23's teaser tuesday was a big reveal and the day before the update...
yeah the performance gains over the dev cycle unless you're running AMD graphics like me but that's something being looked into at least are pretty mighty, and with further optimisation in both the game's development and hardware later down the line vr could possibly be a late-stage addition
literally anything that the devs/mod team do means the update is near now?
the hell lmao

Update speculation thread:
I'd suspect the front fascia on the curiosity caravan is not actually the facelift, but rather the passenger van version of the existing 90s fascia.
the main reason I think this is how the sides of the grille have the "kink" in it 2/3 of the way down, as does the (90s) grand marshal.
the real facelifted vans, such as the GMT610 express and 2008 econoline, have much more "organically" shaped headlights (you'd expect some curved edges like the facelift D15/roamer), where these seem to conform exactly to the existing rectangular panel outlines. being compound headlights, they also match the general construction of the pre-facelift roamer or original D-series.
are those 20 inch rims i spot in the teaser?
Career mode would make sense when they have all of the gameplay features they desire (plus UI). and I imagine they would still keep adding content over time.
I would like if the Curiosity Caravan has a custom van style interior at some point. we could do with some sort of Caravan/Conversion/70's style custom van.
cant wait to drive da funny van
Sounds like a new police chase idea.
I must say the H-Series is probably the vehicle that they have the most creative freedom with, they could add a 2010 or newer facelift and it would be entirely plausible, given both Ford & Chevrolet have been running their equivalent vans with the same body-style since 1991 & 1996 respectively. Just with facelifts.
The H-Series is pretty much the only vehicle in the game that could plausibly have a 30-odd year lifespan.
The T-series could also be extended back to about 1955 (to resemble the peterbilt 281), and up to the modern day if they wanted to, making a 66 year production.
Speaking of interiors, besides a custom one, I also think it would only make sense for them to add the same color options as the D-series and Roamer interiors.
And here it is, not a perfect job, but it's something:
