I hope it does come to 0.24. I wonder if that is part of the reason for this being a longer update cycle. Stability and bug fixing for a new platform will be a serious endeavour for the team. I wish them the best of luck, I can't wait to install a native version
It would not only be a serious endeavor, it would probably take a complete rewrite of the game's code. I also wish them the best of luck with it, even if it is a BeamNG.tech exclusive.
I don't think so, most of the code should work on linux, the problem was the game engine was only compatible with windows, but with Vulkan there won't be this problem.
Well, it is used for the driver training scenario, and removing it make impossible to complete the scenario.
the ETK map isn't going to be removed, it's likely going to get some sort of remaster/overhaul like the other maps have. I wouldn't be surprised if the highway expanded into a large high speed one which would be great to have
Yeah, one giant highway loop would be cool, since the map isn't really that intensive for people with lower end hardware. And the current stretch is not that long anyway..
Dev vehicles tend to be higher quality than mods OT: Do you guys think career mode will be released in 0.25? They’ve been promising it for a long time and with the longer update cycle in would make sense
it's not an unreasonable proposal, but I would have thought they would implement the redesigned UI throughout before implementing the groundwork for career mode.
but for both the amount of time it would take to implement, and the amount of bugs it could potentially introduce, they likely wouldn't want to overload themselves. i'm thinking the UI overhaul might also involve a rethink of the backend management of the UI, as it's currently pretty much run as a separate program, leading to general optimisation issues, and if they do something that drastic, it can't be expected to just work perfectly on every user's system the first time.
