Update Speculation thread

Honestly I think it's reasonable and best to assume a release next week. Not only would it avoid a situation similar to Cyberpunk 2077 where the game was only somewhat playable, it would allow the developers to thoroughly test and experiment to finish up the game, especially with an update as large as brand new graphics, a new vehicle, a remaster, and a whole new map. Plus a beginning of the week release allows them to spend the rest of the week collecting bug reports from the community for bug fixes.

Um... it seems as though there's been two unplanned leaks, first on the YouTube video, then on the BeamBot - do you guys think these are mistakes or are the devs treating them as mistakes to reintroduce uncertainty as to how close the update is?

both are mistakes on different issues, the beambot one is just an accidental leak caused by the search not excluding hidden items for some reason

 

What is the beambot ? I didn't see anybody talk about it

 

The BeamBot is a dev run bot on the forums. In this case, it has a hidden release of the .22.3 gridmap as a mod, for when .23 comes out, but the hidden release isn't hidden from search.

Tomorrow is possible, but that's it. There's no concrete evidence that tomorrow for sure is update day. They've been spamming updates to the qa_latest branch for at least a few days but that doesn't always mean an update is around the immediate corner. I remember someone once saying to me that "made-up claims that bear any realism" is something that shouldn't be pushed for legitimate consideration, so I'm not going to say it won't be tomorrow but I'm also not going to say that it is tomorrow definitely, because we don't know that yet. Please try to allow for some tolerance because any delay will be less aggravating that way. I'd say within three or four days myself, because if it really is as close as they make it out to be then a few more days of waiting is completely reasonable.
