I personally think/hope we will get:
    1: Finland
    2: Japan
3: Some type of desert map, possibly Australia?
    4: Germany (ETK remaster?)
    5: Eastern Europe

Finland aka snow map probably should have even changed snowing and raining. Imo the current weather system (which is important as it affects vehicles a lot) is a way behind almost everything or at least snowing and rain.

Definitely any sort of map with snow outside of Automation. Next map should involve deserts. maybe Nevada, New mexico, or Arizona. The Australian outback would be great too. But whatever map they go for it should tie into the games story somewhat.

Utah has deserts so technically the Desert biome niche is already filled.

as far as actual evidence for possible maps goes:
-the unused fishing village mesh in JRI suggests a japanese map
-the various french police cars (though as softair said, that doesn't necessarily point to a map
-the possibility of ETKDEC being remade into a larger germany map, or having a new map alongside it (similar to hirochi raceway/ECA)
and as far as map experiments from developers:
-b25mitch has done various environment studies of his local area (around Brisbane, Australia) including mount glorious, mount coot-tha, and lakeside park raceway.
-Jalkku made "rallymap", a take on a Finnish rally stage.
-doulpepper made "altitude", set in the (probably french?) Alps.
all 3 of these last locations could be developed quite well into a 4x4km vanilla map of their own.

Barstow mainly needs smaller bumpers and more content. it was one of the best quality official vehicles when it came out back in October 2015. More differences in model years (facelifts that get worse and worse) and specialty tuner variants that are great for the end of career would be nice. Muscle cars were well known for their specialty variants that are basically car collector bait.

The Grand Marshall needs its final remaster (Better models/textures, Station wagon, Facelift, more wheels, etc) as well as the H Series. it seems like with the maps that these Vehicle remasters are happening in the background like what was happening with maps (I think the remastering started around the time Italy came out). Mind you these vehicles were always being worked on in the background, it was just the fact that we haven't seen too much major visual changes.

There are French signs on Altitude, so it is probably set in France or Switzerland.

Changes are, by th time the developers come arround to it, there will be a speed limit in germany.

Nobody can tell for certain of course, but political climate for one has never been better.

    • The greens are almost certainly part of even leader of the next goverment.
    • The largest german manufacturer, the Volkswagen Group is in dire need of selling EVs. What makes EVs more attractive? A general speed limit that reduces the range difference between EVs and ICEs at highway speeds. Speeding was always expensive since air resistance increases 4 times for any 2 times increase in speed, but for all their piss poor efficiency, ICEs could reasonable live with that because a 50 L tank of fuel contains the equivalent of a 433 kW/h (Petrol) or 489 kW/h (Diesel). So even at the lousy expected 30 % efficiency you had an "battery" with 130 kW/h (Petrol) or 146 kW/h (Diesel) to draw from. So unlike in the past where they strongly opposed it, changes are that they - not so loudly - support it.
    • The is a slight majority for one in the general population. Changes are, once it has happened, many of people opposing it now, will change their mind, realizing that short sprints of higher speeds (more isnt possible in most cases due to traffic amount) do in fact a crap job at increasing the average speed and as such travel time. You need to race like a madman to be notable faster than someone driving a constant 130 km/h. And 1 or 2 bad traffic lights can wipe that advantage into nonexistance. Several german automagazines and shows have repeatedly tried that... it simple isnt worth it. Much higher fuel consumption, hundred times the risk.... for a an advantage measured in minutes, not in hours.

Most likely ports and airports (and in case of some maps, Highways) would work similar to say what happens in TDU2. it would transport you to another level and would be separated by a custom loading screen to simulate travel.

I agree, we need more non-USA maps but Cliff doesn't look like it's in the USA. It seems like an original map, without any country inspirations.
As for Jungle Rock Island, I've seen some other posts in this website saying it's more like an Asian map and the bunkers and cannons definitely confirm this due to the WWII.

Oh my goodness! It's much worse than I had imagined! :(
But on the other hand, it's really refreshing to find out that you can go ~1250km in one 50l tank with the Vivace 110d steadily @100km/h in 6th gear, while a Tograc qE with the 75kWh battery (and even the slightly lighter Vivace E with only the front electric motor and the same 75kWh battery retrofitted instead of the 50kWh standard one) can't even manage to go 1/3 of this number! Batteries have a long, very long way to go before reaching fossil fuel levels of energy density! I wonder what supercapacitors are capable of! ;)
I have one last question: what is somebody gonna do if a person they care about is in danger and no state service responds? Driving like a madman is the only option for making it to the hospital, for example!

P.S.: The Vivace 110d has the "6-speed manual transmission" as standard and that's the gearbox I'm talking about. However, in the parts selector, you can also put the "Diesel 6-speed manual transmission", which has slightly taller gearing and makes the car even more frugal. With the "6-speed manual", the 110d 1.5 engine spins at ~1750rpm at 100km/h in 6th gear, while with the "Diesel 6-speed manual", it spins at ~1666rpm.
The 150d 2.0 engine, when coupled to the standard "Diesel 6-speed manual", spins at ~2150rpm due to shorter diff final drive ratio (4.37 for the 150d vs 3.389 for the 110d) and when it's coupled to the "Diesel 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission", it spins at ~1400rpm in 7th gear (~1400rpm with the 4.37, with the 3.389 it spins at ~1090rpm but, with ~6.4l/100km, it's more work load for the engine because it's even further away from its optimum rev range of 1700 - 3250rpm - the 4.37 is more economical, with 4.7l/100km).

Based on how the bus stops are setup in JRI its all but confirmed to be a non USA map in the near future. I think it's going to end up either in the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea or one of the various island nations in Oceania. The reason why I state this is that the bus stops are on the left side and thus not a likely USA location. With all the presumably Japanese bunkers on JRI I would assume it was another strong hold that saw heavy fighting at one point during WW2 but after the USA tried to make it a tourist destination to help the local government recover but due to how difficult it was to ship supply's it was abandoned. There are only 2 things left on the island that are in semi active use and those would be the port and quarry. Due to how difficult some resources are in that part of Oceania it's possible that the government that owns the area is willing to keep those 2 things operational due to the critical economic - resource supply that one quarry is able to output. Of course this is just guess work but there are some stories like this out there and it makes sense. It's got it's own low maintenance, low risk, low skill, low resource requirements, power production and even if it's overkill it's still all setup and ready to work. But anyway these are my thoughts and are going way off topic.

Regarding new maps, who knows, New vehicles possible (please euro spec truck), remasters of older vehicles yes but which and when who knows.

I imagine there will be a update of the unmarked vehicles in game.
The newly added unmarked vehicles has lights in the rear, where as cars like the Roamer only has in the front.

The Roamer used to have the rear ones but for whatever reason they were removed from the config, idk why, I liked them. They were still available in parts selector last time I checked though.

Wow, hadn't noticed the bus stops up until I read your comment! So, we guess this island was a part of the Marshall plan, maybe? It's amazing what we learn every day! ;)

Roamer only has them with barn doors. Gm only has them on the front bumper.

GM just has in the front as well.
I don't think they are in the parts menu, at least not anymore if they was.

Already mentioned the reason for that if you didn't see.
