if only it was actually happening
Maybe its now a Pixar Cars actor
this belongs to BeamNG.cursed
I would actually disagree. East Coast and/or the midwest have a small-town feel, which would make them better suited to the start of your archetypal rags-to-riches progression. Utah would be a viable starting point, too, but of the current maps I would choose Italy as the main late game setting. It's exotic, well-populated enough that it doesn't feel like the middle of nowhere, and is at least selectively affluent. It has a rich, storied car culture and is already well-established as a driving Mecca, something New England and the flyover states are not.
And while Career needn't be bound to real-world logic, the money needed to drive from state to state (like, say, Utah to East Coast) is a fraction of the money you'd need to fly overseas*. If the game started in Italy, you'd be bound to Italy until you gained enough cash to visit every other map, virtually all at once: starting in USA has a better sense of progression, given current map content.
*let alone to transport one or more vehicles between continents. Again, Career doesn't need to be uncompromisingly bound to real-world costs and logistics, but overseas travel should probably be limited until the career's second or third act.
The twitter thing was cute. I'll be surprised if someone doesn't turn it into a GIF and use it as an avatar or forum meme.
Jokes aside, I like the way those fancy chrome wheels look on the Pigeon. They look a little like they were robbed off of a hot dog cart, but if I was modifying a Pigeon-like vehicle IRL, I would probably start by seeing if I could find a hot dog cart with custom wheels.
MuYe would be happy
They have to be at least flirting with the idea of a Pigeon remaster, I'm sure it's not just a hilariously cruel joke, right?
Most vehicles before 2016 do need some sort of remaster, even the Barstow (could do with smaller bumpers and different grilles and lights for model years).
that´s the speculation
I think we might get barrel skins because colorful barrels started appearing in maps
Colorful barrels first appeared in Small island IIRC and thats about one year ago. So not really recently
Although the barrel prop has much worse model than background barrels
Well, all of the original official vehicles have been completed.
for all new vehicles, we have no idea about what they will be or look like. This is exciting
I hope it will be something between 2000-2010. There is a gap between 2003 and 2008 that only recent D-series and Roamer facelifts occupied.
Completed, but not necessarily up-to-date
ok, here's a bit of far-fetched speculation:
the H series still hasn't had its facelifts and content added yet.
but once it does, a 70's van is probably less likely than a facelift, as an earlier model would require completely different external body panels, where a facelift would only require a new front end, as shown by the ford econoline below, the middle picture is the closest analogue to the H15 in-game currently.
however, both the Chevrolet express and Ford Econoline had minor updates after their 2000s facelifts, gaining new engines around 2008 to as late as 2020.
for example, the Econoline's largest Petrol engine changed from the 460 Lima V8 in the 90s, to the 6.8 Triton V10 in 1999, then to the 7.3 Godzilla V8 in 2020.
If the Van is getting some sort of '10s minor facelifts along with the '00s facelift, then a DOHC Variant of the existing V8s (as well as perhaps a V6 and V10) would flesh that lineup out quite well.
Then here's the big stretch: in one of the Utah car dealerships, there's a burnside banner with a similar typeface to the '90s-'00s gavril logos, suggesting there's going to be some sort of reasonably modern burnside.
unless this is hinting to a rebadged variant of the grand marshal or roamer, they're likely going to steer clear of any more '80s and '90s content, given the overall negative reaction to the announcement of the wendover and the oversaturation of cars from that period.
Otherwise, thinking back to yellowrusty's survey thread, one car demographic that was quite popular was the modern american muscle car or police car.
something akin to a cadillac CTS or Chrysler 300 would fill such a niche, having monococque construction and all independent suspension, but still being older and ham-fisted enough to stay distinct from the ETK 800. and such a vehicle would also use more modern DOHC Variants of the gavril V8.
Bold to assume there will be more? We have a pretty broad selection of vehicles as it is so I imagine they would prefer to focus on improving those. There are a few holes in the lineup but I haven't seen any sign of interest in filling those.
Concept vehicle list confirmed malarkey
Edit: evidence devs are considering a new Burnside?
I noticed that too, but didnt wanna say anything cause...well yea, it is far fetched
the idea would be amazing though, to see the evolution of burnside and how far they've fallen from grace
Looks like it could be an SUV? It would also be interesting to see the original RoR Burnside reimagined for BeamNG, maybe there could be a cheaper Gavril version as well
They might not have really fallen, just faded, much like Lincoln isn't huge, but still makes good cars.
