Update Speculation thread

? I dont think we get career mode....but looks like the wendower, walking mode is (almost) done

 

got a few questions :

• how heavy is the player
• will there be a guide on how to set those little red bounding boxes to open stuff in jbeam?
• can the player get rammed by vehicles lol
• do you get out of the right side of the vehicle if it's RHD? (I'm guessing that's a yes)
• will it work with mods out of the box or will it require some sort of adaptation?

Overall this looks extremely cool, awesome work from you guys as always

something i hope is gonna be fixed is the transparancy sorting issues... it looks really bad.

 

totally agree...we hope that will be fixed in 0.22

 

I hope it works with multiplayer lol. It would be chaos.

 

back on the salad weenie, i wonder if that electronic voice system or the infotainment thing comes to fruition; the last two new cars all had something new: bluebuck had lowrider suspension and different body styles, FCV had different drive modes that adjusted suspension and whatnot

What would happen with simplified collision? Can you just walk through the cars? If yes then that's a rip to all rammers lmao

 

My thoughts:

There's one thing I don't like about... this.

I think it is more likely that walking mode is a hotfix, as opposed to the full update, and even still, walking mode isn't showing off the hinges and I'm not sure how it's going to fit in in the state it's shown.
Something just seems odd about radio silence... wendover in game less than three weeks after placeholder thumbnails were removed... major wendover completion... and then walking teasers, not on any official stream, but here of all places. It seems somewhat more likely to me that it's either going to be a mod or a hotfix that's going to be built upon. I want to believe that the update is soon as much as everyone else, but some things just don't add up, especially the walk mode teasers. They don't fit with the traditional BeamNG update info pattern, if that makes sense.

 

Drivemodes also adjust the exhaust, but that´s also present on both the modern ETKs, maybe the Sunburst as well? I don´t know if that was added in 0.19 though.

 

yeah, if i recall, the exhaust note is more raw in sport and arsenic modes

I'm curious how this mode is gonna work with traffic. Can you "steal" cars stopped at stoplights? Will the cops chase you if you do? What happens if you try to steal a cop car? Can you get busted on foot? If you're in a stolen traffic car, will the game add your previous car to traffic?

 

Another question: Will the player be visible from the outside? If not, then you can rip through rammers when they cant even see you.
