I am missing offroad wheels for the trailer. Hopefully those dually offroad wheels will also be available on the H and D series.
Wait, does that mean that the dirty tires won't make it as official content in the game? Or am I wrong?
We have the crawler tires that I think are dirty. I don’t know if they’re going to expand that to the grip-all off road tires, but it should (correct me if I’m wrong) just be a texture change.
I wouldn't mind the T-Series getting something of the sort officially, they look great on her. I really with more stuff would get textures up to the Hopper Crawler standard. Even the other sizes of the Bog Blasters don't have the dirty texture; the clean texture looks incredibly out of place on them. Just compare the Crawler to the Pig, especially the flares and rock sliders. The Crawler's are beautifully weathered but the Pig looks right out of the factory. I'll take "sentences I never thought I'd say" for $200.
I think there should be an option for both "clean" and "dirty" tires, kind of like what @SergentFido did with his Oldsfullsize mod, which allows you to select between both "clean" and "dirty" tires:
Ohh… I was really excited for a moment there. I really do hope we get all-terrain tires for the T-series in-game sometime soon. Still, that looks like an interesting view of Industrial Site (or maybe Port?) - the buildings are certainly more modern than the ones currently in the map. I wonder if that loading hopper will be making its way in.
Since delivering things are slated for Career Mode, that and driving off-road semis really bring out the SpinTires asthetic.
speaking of spintires, playing that has recently made me aware of how much I want to see a 6x6 conversion for the semi. but back on topic of speculation, with a lot of vehicles getting extra content, I wonder if the 90's pessima will finally get a use for its GTRX aero?
Wait...the 90s Pessima has GTRX aero? I never knew about that( since i mean, it's a boring family sedan from the 90s) Maybe a hillclimb version?
That GTRX aero has been bugging me too - along with the rally parts for the Miramar. I think that a hillclimb 90s Pessima and rally Miramar are likely to appear when it's their turn for reworking.
Anyone remember pbr implementation of pbr on torque 3d? was there any news by the devs on if it could be also implemented on beamng (when its ready)? maybe the devs are in touch with the torque 3d team and know things we probably dont. i hope torque 3d keeps evolving since the odds of beam moving to another engine seems impossible. also i modified a cubemap to fake the fresnel effect on the paint and looks very nice. i dont remeber if this was discussed recently, sorry if it was.
I don't know if anyone else noticed this but the Sunburst has licence plate lights. I believe this was added in 0.19 (it could have been in the change log but I didn't see anything about these). There could be a possibility of the all the cars getting proper plate lights. The K-series has always had these but they don't illuminate the plate tho
PBR is currently implemented in newer versions of Torque3d, and the engine in question is continuing to evolve. However, trading the current (heavily modified to the point of being proprietary) version of Torque that Beam now uses for a newer one presents most of the same obstacles as switching to a new game engine altogether. Having not used or seen anything on newer versions of Torque, I'm not sure what issues this would present, but it would likely not be worth the time. Additionally, PBR would require rebuilding pretty much every material with even the slightest bit of glossiness. Traditional game rasterizers use diffuse, normal, and specular textures, where PBR materials use diffuse, normal, metallicity, and roughness textures. You can kinda glean some of the latter two from specular and reflectivity maps, but it's an imprecise art, and would probably need to be tuned per material.
