Update Speculation thread

Not only is it a 2x2 map but it's also an island, so a healthy chunk of that 2x2 is water, compared to the others on the above comparison which do not have much if any water eating into those 4sqkm

This alongside Port, Industrial Site, and Small Island being 1x1 km maps really makes me think they'll just bundle these last few maps together. But then again, the fact that we're hearing little to nothing from the level team besides one short Instagram video raises concerns regarding the prospects of level upgrades in this update.

 

Oh, thanks for sharing that. Jungle Rock Island still feels big in my opinion though.

 

It feels larger than other maps because of it's layout mostly being composed of winding mountain roads which make getting from point slower.

 

Yeah, maybe that and the big trees/mountains on that map.

I forgot how bad some of the engine models look. They look like they're from GTA IV.


On that note, the Pigeon and Bolide never got the lettering upscaling that all of the other cars did back in like 2015—which means they look really, really bad.

Even with texture settings set to maximum, you can barely make out that the Civetta badge is supposed to be an owl.

I was just looking at the official content list for the Moonhawk so I could type a list of what was needed for a remaster and its not there, as if the Moonhawks discussion page was deleted

 

If we're talking about engine models and textures, allow me to show off some of the greatest ingame:

In all seriousness, I highly doubt that anyone would oppose 0.20 just being an update focused on bringing older vehicles ('96 Pessima and earlier) up to par with the newer ones in terms of graphics. The textures on some of these cars is almost comically bad (underbodies, lights, and radiators especially), and the models tend to be lower-poly with less details (brake lines, rear interior panels in coupes, visors, etc.) as well. After seeing the Bluebuck, it's kind of hard to believe that some of the cars are even from the same game.
