hnng i hope they update small island
it's my fav map
Definitely Small Island, also note the Texas plates.
Well in that case, if I were the devs, I would have waited until a little closer to the release before posting such a massive info dump as the one we just got... I probably would have done smaller info drops more frequently throughout the process, maybe a screenshot or two of the new car, then do the mega info dump a couple weeks before the release at the earliest.
no offense, just curious, but why is it your favorite map? i find it painfully boring and not very aesthetically pleasing. i only ever use it for suspension testing my various creations, since the roads are so shitty/bumpy/filled-with-potholes-y.
Well, that's the point of this map. This is best rally map without boring flat and straight roads. There is no other map like this and only Utah is somewhat close. ECUSA or Italy are little disappointing if we compare to Small Island. Not to mention Jungle Island that have potential (offroad roads are fun, but rest of the dirt roads are as mentioned earlier).
Not too worried about them, if they do try and come after me their cars will probably break down.
It seems like they lights are a single unit with a body coloured panel dividing them in an accident do you think these panels will come off????(would be cool as it means more parts that come off in an accident)
I personally like it without, gives off a Mclaren vibe, so I really hope they can be removed. I feel like they wouldn't model the full thing if it wasn't supposed to be exposed by crashing or removing the panel. I would also like an option to remove the lower light, but that might be doing too much.
I think Small Island USA is okay, but it needs an update and I'm glad it's getting one. By the way, I know Small Island USA is meant to be small, but I do think having a small town, road signs, and possibly a few telephone poles would benefit the map and make it more up to date, but that's just my thoughts on what I think should happen to the map.
Not sure about a small town, but I hope the buildings at least become actual houses and not the inexplicable welded-together pieces of modern art they are now.
Seriously, what exactly are the old buildings supposed to be? They look post-apocalyptic to me.
Fair enough. Small Island USA is a small map, so a town may not go that well with the map.
1. devblog = awesome !
2. "Vivace" : iirc if it's a French word too it derives from Italian anyway. French would be like vee-vas , Italian like vee-va-che
iirc the orig sounds are acquired licensed product, hence why we still can't mod the sound files.
Is'nt Small Island one of or the first BeamNG map ? If so, preserving the nostalgia seems rather cool to me.
Going from the new car reveal, can somebody extrapolate on what is meant when they said "We also started applying realistic speed limits to the car, again with realistic options to change or remove the artificial limits."
Is there something particularly unrealistic about current speed limits, and what "artificial limits" are there? I know you can break 300 MPH in the SBR on gridmap, which might be unrealistic given current speed records, but for the lower-performance vehicles, it never seemed all that unrealistic to me.
Probably just a speed limiter in the ECU, cuts the throttle if the car goes above a certain speed.
"with realistic options to change or remove the artificial limits"
It's an ECU limiter, as stated above.
I'm really wondering how this engine set up will work in career mode. One adjustable turbo with removable ECU limiter... So, will the main way of upgrading this car in career mode be tuning packages rather than bolt on intakes?
Ah, okay. I seem to have just misinterpreted what they meant by "realistic speed limits"
That's kinda what it sounds like. Makes me wonder if this will involve being able to change things like air:fuel ratios (and whatever else an ECU controls... maybe VVT?).
At the very least, it seems confirmed (assuming they don't change this when released) that there will be preconfigured ECU's as per "so exchanging it to one from a higher tier config can give you more power on the cheap."
gogo me dry rock island overhaul
Could be a good way of teaching inexperienced players the ins and outs of such, if it would be applicable to other vehicles.
that would actually make sense, as port, industrial, and small island combined is just dri.
