Thx for your reply! Where are these paint collections located? within vehicles/simpletraffic I could only find the info.json that contains color informations, but it doesn´t seem to do anything. When changed it has no affect on the traffic vehicles ingame. Is there any update on this? Can we create custom configs for simplified traffic now? If so.. is there some guide on it? I tried to create my own by copying an existing one, giving it new names and changing only the skin but it never works in my game. Are there any files outside of vehicles/simpletraffic that are relevant for this? I suppose we cannot create a simplified traffic version of a vehicle that doesn´t exist for vanilla (like the miramar?) since the parts have not been reworked for simplified traffic. Sorry for asking so many questions but I tried to make it work before and couldn´t figure it out... eventually there should be some sort of guide for this.. thank you <3
All the main paints are now stored in files inside /vehicles/common/paintLibraries/ and most vehicles including traffic now pull from there as the central source of paint info, so stuff can be shared between cars etc. The generic paints defined in the main traffic info.json file are no longer used and instead the paintCollections field in each config specific info json tells it which vehicle's set of paints it uses from the common files Just adding regular configs to traffic should already function, if you want to do a version of a pre-existing traffic vehicle but with a custom skin etc. Just make sure it includes all the same info in its config info json files as the regular ones, including a sane population value and region tags and stuff. For adding custom mod map specific regions for traffic there's not really been the time for me to get around to bug people enough for this to happen at the moment, lots of things in progress that are more important currently so no guarantee for this in any immediate updates but hopefully one day. Adding modded vehicles to the simplified traffic should also be possible and has been done by a few big mods already, however adding currently unsupported official vehicles may be a bit of a different rabbit hole with if that then happens officially in the future. Stuff like the miramar would be good one day and probably will happen eventually, though at the moment I'm busy with lots of other work so the free time for traffic progress is going towards fleshing out the existing vehicle config lists that originally had parts and versions cut for time. Once things have calmed down a little there should hopefully be some more progress there in future updates. As for doing it for a mod, I would not personally recommend it for now but if someone were to really want to make their own simplified version of an official vehicle not supported then I would at least suggest it be done in a way that doesn't conflict with any future official ones (like adding a modder prefix to all the vehicles internal names, like "moddername_miramar" instead of just "miramar" etc). There's technically be no issue with that then but you'd have to bear in mind this would then start popping up on every map because of the aforementioned lack of custom dynamic region tags for traffic right now, and set the population values accordingly and all. Hopefully that answers everything, tried to cover as much of the questions as I can
