No, with Bulldozer they just went on about multicore pretty much exclusively, it was good for the time overall, but everyone more or less knew that is was super slow in single core, at the time though an 8 core CPU and for as little price as it is was really revolutionary. Thats not really the case with the new one, there is no reason for it to be magically slower because its built just like any other Intel or older AMD CPU and has quite alot of new overclocking tech.
Overclocking is the key in the AMD. I hope, with the new AM4 socket, we can use our AM3+ coolers in new series.
I hope we don't need to do anything, AMD has the know how and the money to make killer processors, they do it with GPU's. They're just to concerned with budget, and honestly do they really think gamers who do this as a hobby are really that budget minded? Most are willing to cash out 250 to 1000 dollars on an Intel so come on AMD.
I want AMD to be cheaper than Intel. Why do i want this? Because where i live, electronics and computer prices (also with the parts) really high. My currency is not Euro or USD. If I want to buy something in my country, i must multiply the USD with 3.5 and also add tax with it. If i want to buy 1000$ pc, it will be very expensive for me. I need a PC in 500-800 USD range (this price range is very optimistic.) Because of that, I won't pay for a 200$ AMD CPU. If AMD can give us a CPU with 150USD it is OK for me to buy it. And, I hope i can get a low end AMD zen cpu that can run better than a intel i3 skylake, I go for it. But if we take the same crap, I will switch to the blue line of the cpu market. We want price/performance monsters with AMD. In PC market, AMD is my last hope for upgrading my PC.
