Thread Now For WIP Wing For The D-Series, It Was For A Bumper Before is that okay? I am looking to see if this wing is to any value in its current state, I do not have time to check today so I wanted to see if you guys (the community) would be up for it The criteria for the "testing" is basically 1. Is it useful 2. Does it serve its purpose 3. When did you notice it serves it purpose 4. Would you recommend it on Yelp (to others) 5. Any SuggestionsINSTALLATION The Wing should be able to just be placed in your mods folder and it should work The tailgate has a RCG tailgate which gets a slot for the wing, you do have to install the wing yourself The tailgate is nothing special it just has the slot previous original post I need to know whether or not this bumper is good enough to be released and not messed with or if it still needs to be refined, it is for the D-series
thanks for the pretty quick feedback so I did update the bumpers jbeam, at some point I will fix the model
Not bad. Looks decent as is. Although it seems kinda heavy and also seems a bit on the strong side. Just look at this crash test between a mod 1958 Chevrolet apache and the D series with this equipped at about 20-25 MPH; The mod I am using is strong enough to leave a very noticeable dent in a D series from a crash at that speed. I may just be missing the point of this mod but I felt like I should post that. And for reference with the weight; If this was on the mods page I would rate it about 3/5. Its something worth keeping but it could use some refinement. And not to mention the JBeam could be tweaked a bit more in places to better fit the bumper. Good luck and I am looking forward to seeing more work done on this **I should note that for anyone thinking that the Apache is still a low quality "russian" mod, The version tested here is one that has been worked on substantially by me and is significantly more on par with the stock cars than what I started with. However it is not up for release and I do not recommend anyone try to find the "original" as for the original is no longer compatible with BeamNG.**
I like the methods done here and the information given Info on what I know about the bumper: It is supposed to be aluminum......thats all pretty much, and that it goes to the frame What I don't know The weight and how it handles crashing The jbeam although highly changed in terms of where nodes are is based on the D series offroad bumper When the reworked jbeam (which I am a nub at doing jbeams) comes it should be much more realistic in the way the bars handle crashes, when the reworked jbeam comes I will do part of the model over again, specifically the bars I feel they are to complicated for the size of them
Here is a third version of the jbeam, I believe most of it is just jbeam work, I did some work and it took me longer than it should have due to other things BE SURE TO DELETE THE PREVIOUS ALIBUMP FOLDER In this zip folder you won't have to do anything you won't even have to disable the base rcgengines mod if you have my mod I will link it here: https://www.beamng.com/resources/6-0l-6-4l-7-3l-v8-diesels-for-d-series.1947/ In the previous test folders you may have had to disable my mod also at some point I will get all the zips here and fix them to where you can test each version without needing to disable them all and only have one active Really that is what I should be doing but I am being a little lazy since crash testing is the #1 priority The weight I am still a little iffy on what it is supposed to be The bumper is made of aluminium and is made by Ali-Arc It is a close replication and mind you this model was made for another game (spintires) and is my very first model basically This is somewhat what the bumper is supposed to look like Really shows how bad I model XD EDIT: Attached Zip
It's refreshing to see someone asking for feedback, and learning along the way. I'm so used to "HELP, NEED JBEAM", or people being so overwhelmed by it that they just complain / don't start.
I am learning???? whaaaa (just kidding) I really need to start from scratch on the jbeam but I am working on other things hence the big ol wait on the V3 zip V4 should have the scratch made jbeam and guess what else......A STICKER
Bump, also the bumper hasn't been forgotten I just haven't had time This wing though got the time I had
