Sunburst exhaust break groups

When the sunburst exhaust gets hung up on an obstacle it tends to break away everywhere but the very front of the vehicle. When that happens the exhaust assembly tends to act like a chain, hooking the vehicle onto the obstacle. This is typically seen when landing a jump or similar, you end up hooked onto the landing ramp/pad. The video below demonstrates this behavior well.

Is this expected/intentional?

Also happens with the sbr4, only it rips the engine out with the exhaust, too. It makes a crazy stretched texture, too.
