...Atlanta politician Logan Hartmann. He was looking for a big and comfortable car in good condition. He decided to go with the used Starfire, and it underwent some customization, including strengthening the body panels and coloring the exterior black. He used it during his term from 1972-1976, and until 1980, when he decided to switch out the car for a wagon, thanks to the birth of two of his sons, Mark and Perkin. The car was auctioned off to...

...Michael Daston, looking for a mint-condition luxury car that would be relatively cheap. Originally, the Olds served his needs very well, but as time went on, he started gravitating towards buying an European car. Finally, in 1984 he bought a 1970 Jaguar XJ6 coupe after getting a raise, and sold the Oldsmobile to...

...Vietnam War veteran Ian Mullen. He was looking for an oldschool American full-sizer in great condition, and went with this Olds. He made it his daily cruiser, and then into his project car in 1986. As he became a tuner around his town of Grafton, New Hampshire (even prior to getting the Oldsmobile), he decided to convert his main drive into something more sportier. The car was equipped with sport brakes, sporty suspension, a engine port from the 1968-1970 Toronado GT, and sportier tires. He kept the custom Olds until 1996, when he decided to find a more desirable Oldsmobile to become his new project car. The Olds, now referred as Ian Mullen's Starfire, was in the new hands of...

...Kevin Marston, a hot rod enthusiast who landed a well-paying construction job in Birmingham. He bought the car, hoping to use it for meets, but quickly found himself not having much time to drive his Olds. He kept the Starfire for the next four years, but in 2000, the Starfire was sold to...

Sooo... my first, and worst car was a 1980 Thunderbird. I remember one time I was driving down the road and flipped on the headlights, but the hide-away headlight covers didn't open!

Continue the previous story or take this one, it's your choice:

    Bill Goilson:

Bill was born in 1966 on Long Island to a relatively rich family. In 1982, he got his first car - a hand-me-down 1976 Jaguar XJS from his mother. His parents pressured him to get something smaller and cheaper to own, like a slightly used Celica or Prelude, or maybe even an early 280ZX, but he preferred that European GT he grew up in. But he couldn't really face the costs of owning a big Jag with a V12, so he sold it in 1984 for $5500, and as per advice of his parents, he bought an used Japanese sports car - a...

...Oldsmobile employee and car tuner, Keith James Piper. He was looking for a nice classic Olds, as he was wanting to get another Olds after he survived a bus crash where his rear axle and rear end of his Bravada was damaged by a speeding city bus. He decided to go with the Starfire, and seeing what he could do with it. After realizing his car was actually already customized, he took the decision of taking the car further. The car received a classic Hurst/Olds paintjob, along with a engine port of the L47 Northstar V8 made specifically for the first gen Aurora that was customized for high performance, modern race parts (canards, splitters, spoilers, etc.), slightly tinted windows, and a custom Michigan plate saying "Olds". 2 years later, he tested the signature Starfire at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the car started becoming more recognized around the States. But after the announcement in 2004 about Oldsmobile's closure, Keith had to find another job in GM, which he was able to find a job as a board member for high performance parts of their high performance trims and cars. To this day, he still owns the Olds, in good condition and has made many appearances since his test drive at Indianapolis, even landing in TV shows, car meets, and even a few SEMA shows. The car is now named the "Old Timer", referencing the age of the car and the brand's nickname. It's also been his main daily since his Bravada.

Used 1975 Datsun 260z 2+2. It was a specced out model with a 3 speed auto and vinyl seats. It ran well and reliably through his college years and law school. He eventually got a decent paying position at a law firm, and as part of his sallary, he could choose an entry-level luxury car. He eventually sold the datsun for a grand and ponied up to a....

...new Corvette C5. The car was a step up from his Vigor, and felt as enjoyable and good as the 260Z. In 2000, he was offered an higher position as a finance attorney in Manhattan, which increased his income. In 2002, he decided to get a sporty European sedan in place of his Corvette - a...

a then-new mercedes s600. The v12 made a glorious noise, good, silky-smooth power, and decent reliability. It comfortably transported him around. However, his heart yearned for something a bit more interesting, so he bought a classic British sports car to drive along side the quiet, competent comfort of the Mercedes. He bought a 1967....

....Jensen Interceptor. It wasn't much of a bad car, but with his demanding job Mr. Goilson did not have much time to drive it around. Meanwhile, the S600 was originally going to be replaced with a 760Li in 2008, but the crisis made Goilson's employer postpone company car upgrades.
It worked quite well for Bill, as by 2009 he was promoted to a high-level executive position, and was able to buy a Rolls-Royce Ghost. A year later, he sold the Jensen without buying a replacement.
Following good performance of the company, in 2011 ('12 model year), Mr. Goilson traded the Ghost in and...

Bought a Bently Flying Spur Speed. It was a power car, with the W12 turbo motor, and it was the perfect car for him. He still has it today.

    Yes sir.

John Hayward was born in western Ohio in 1982. He was raised in a family of middle class computer specialists. He eventually turned 16 and wanted to buy a cheap, but tech-laden, car.
