i just wona add Carmageddon 2 had a nice damage model, and in that time was unique... I think that nobody still have done something similar. But for now nothing is better than Beaming!
and if you crash into a wall in GTA IV, the damage does something to where the front of the car gets "horns" on where the headlights were
Yeah burnout was the best modern game I've played with realtime damage. Viper racing was a 90's game yet had some great realtime damage, almost on par to early RoR, minus the driving physics. The interesting thing about Flatout 1-2 was that it actually didn't have real-time physics it was actually all premodeled, it seems like more of a pain than realtime would have been.
